Single Catholics-a Catholic woman should be passive?

My 2 cents - I try not to have too long a list of potential spouse “musts” unless it’s a moral matter. :o

I forget if I’ve posted this previously on this thread, but the following has been my observation:
  1. High energy women are often tightly wound.
  2. Easygoing women often don’t have a lot of energy.
In my family, my grandma and my alarmingly Martha Stewartish SIL are type 1, while my mom is type 2. I’m not sure what I am. When I am easy going, I’m not high energy. When I have high energy, I can be tightly wound.

(And I suspect something similar holds for men, too.)

So, it behooves a single person to decide, which combination do I find more tolerable? Choose carefully, and then don’t complain that your easy going spouse never gets much done, or that your high energy spouse expects a lot from you.

I know Zzyzx Road has mentioned that he wants a high energy woman…And he also wants an easy going woman…I do not hold out a lot of hope for ZR that he is going to find that particular combination in this dimension, particularly not if he also has other expectations (church-going, wants a large family, etc.).

I think they mean a wife who is gentle in manner, even when disagreeing. Passive is such a broad term.

I work with a woman who freqently blasts her husband on the phone, and is very, very harsh to him, every single day. It is painful to listen to, and loud. Yikes. If I were a man I would run from this type.
I do. This means I run from a good deal of modern women but also some of the more traditional type.

It’s difficult to say what’s okay and what’s not. For example I can understand even physical aggression when in a justified or excusable state of mental agitation. But too many women think they owe to their own sex a duty to act dismissively towards men, put them down, never make thier lives easier, employ a contrarian attitude and be guided by impulse. A misunderstanding of freedom and one’s own need to assert it, I’m sure. Probably not even really their fault in the light of the brainwashing they get, but still extremely difficult to put up with, even for a generally mild person that tends to make up excuses for others when they’re being a pain in the side.

But a real man isn’t afraid of a bit of a just plain old headstrong lass, sure not.
