Didnāt the Church of the Bible lack land because of the persecutions? ** Or was it because they sold all they had to be distributed to those that were in need. They met in homes.**
Werenāt the rules minimal because the Church just began and had to be formed, again in the midst of persecutions? **The OT āchurchā gave a lot of rules. Howād that work? ** (note I put OT church in quotes - I know thereās no OT church.)
And there was a hierarchy. The 12 were appointed by Christ Himself. Scriptures show the necessity to fill the offices of bishop if they were vacated, so there was a succession. Paul told of the imposition of hands. And he taught that they came together for the Lordās Supper and taught that they had to discern the body and blood of Christ, lest they risk judgement.
1Co 12:28 And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors: after that miracles: then the graces of healings, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations of speeches. Isnāt the THIRD: doctors better translated āteachersā?
Looks like God indeed hath set a hierarchy.
