Being a Catholic is very hard sometimes. To be selfless and to make sacrifices constantly is not easy. To bite my tongue when I see things that I know to be wrong, things I would never do…

I’m not saying all Catholics think this way, maybe you do -I dont know… But I do try to spend an hour in prayer daily, exercise, eat healthy, etc… All for God! My body is His temple, and my sould needs to be clean.

I confess to a priest my sins, and since I am notoriously shy, this is hard for me. I have to make a lot of sacrifices. I also “fast” as penance… Like fo lent.

I dont know what it’s like to be a Protestant… I can only guess that life is pretty “normal” ?

Didn’t the Church of the Bible lack land because of the persecutions?
Weren’t the rules minimal because the Church just began and had to be formed, again in the midst of persecutions?

And there was a hierarchy. The 12 were appointed by Christ Himself. Scriptures show the necessity to fill the offices of bishop if they were vacated, so there was a succession. Paul told of the imposition of hands. And he taught that they came together for the Lord’s Supper and taught that they had to discern the body and blood of Christ, lest they risk judgement.

1Co 12:28 And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors: after that miracles: then the graces of healings, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations of speeches.

Looks like God indeed hath set a hierarchy.

I rare slip up by Redbert: I was wrongly focusing on the issues in my own congregation (as that is what I thought the post meant) and not the whole world wide UMC denomination.
