Ben Masada;4838152:
PJM;4834620:
PJM, you startled me with your short answer. Are you being sarchastic or you do mean? And what about this
“The only difference was the truth.” What do you mean? If this was to provoke me, let’s start by a definition. What is the Truth?
I’ll tell you mine after you share with me yours.
Ben:
Ben my friend,
Your question is indeed a great one!
Can Truth be proven? Yes it can or we could not call it “truth!”
The RCC is the provider, and the caretaker for
All Truth on Matters of Faith and Morals." Why because that is God’s paln.
Ben my friend, there can only be “the truth”. If there were your truth and my truth the result would be;NO TRUTH
And while my post was short, it did speak the truth!
God bless you!
PJM, Shalom to you from Yerushalaim. I have no more doubt about you. You are of my kind. And about the Truth, according to Philosophy, I am of the opinion that there is no definition. You are right about the no-Truth if we were to consider
yours or mine. Yes, Philosophically, you did speak the Truth.
One day, however, Pilate asked Jesus, “What is the Truth?” But he left thinking that he wouldn’t be able to feedback any reply that could come out of Jesus. But in another occasion Jesus said that
the Truth is the Word of God. (John 17:17)
Now, if you check the Psalmist about the Word of God, he declares that It was entrusted to Israel only and to no other people
on earth. (Psalm 147:19,20) Then, the same Psalmist compares
the Word of God to light in the path of man. (Psalm 119:105) Light! Yes, light is what makes us see and understand.
Now, let’s leave the Psalms and try a Prophet. Isaiah, for example, he says in 42:6 that Israel was given as light unto the nations. That’s why he said in 2:2,3 that for those who need instruction in the Word of God, the address is Zion, the Jewish People.
But let’s leave the Tanach and return to Jesus, who has just started his famous Sermon of the Mount to a crowd of Jews. Then,
he tells them, “You are the light of the world.” (Mat. 5:14) It’s interesting to notice that he did not say, you have, but you are. Because what one has, it can be taken away; but what one is, he
is no matter what.
Therefore, setting aside Philosophy just for the time being, now you know spiritually where the Truth is. No wonder Isaiah called this People Immanuel in Isaiah 8:8.
