Dr_Meinheimer . . .
In days, he will still be the President. Weeks and months too. Have fun with your zero-sum endgame.
Absolutely correct.

If President Trump survives this coup attempt that has been ongoing for three years, unless something really bizarre occurs, President Trump will glide to re-election.

Many of these same names attacking him, will be rightly going to jail.

It will become more obvious after December 9th with the release of the report.

When these bad guys begin going to jail, we are all going to hear about “Trump totalitarianism” etc.

I guess this is what I should expect in draining the swamp.

Also. If these guys ever get back into power (the way they want to) they will go after President Trump.

They will go after him long after he is out of power in their vindictiveness, when it is they themselves who are guilty.

Evidently Sondland didn’t ingratiate himself with the left, which is protesting and boycotting his family business. The article doesn’t tell us whether the leftist protesters are wearing brown or black shirts. 🙂 No photos either.
So, you paint people protesting and boycotting as fascists and Nazis. That’s great. Worth remembering.

The point being you can pretty well tell whether the left is displeased with someone by the harassment they mete out to people who oppose their point of view.

How very Christian of you to accuse protesters and those that seek boycotts as fascists and Nazis. I wonder why the younger generation does not listen to the older…

Does he deserve to be removed because some folks felt a quid pro quo was at play, despite not having evidence (evidence being Trump telling them “this is a quid pro quo.”
Well, this is normally not done - “I’m shaking you down and if you do this I’ll do that. Do you know latin? Yeah, it’s a quid pro quo”.
Removing a sitting president is too serious to expect anything less.
Removing a President is very, very, serious. You bet. I agree. BUT, Trump probably has the best chance of any President other than Nixon to get removed.

Possibly you can quote us that part of the Catechism that condemns those who believe as Santayana did that “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Right, we don’t have direct evidence, we have penumbras and emanations (insert Eric Swalwell joke here)…

It is an error to compare these protesters with Nazis and fascists. Hence, you are not applying historical lessons correctly.

Well, if we could have gotten someone to wear a wire it would’ve been easy. Or maybe if someone had overheard phone calls. Oh, wait…

Or maybe if someone had overheard phone calls.
We also have the transcript of the phone call, but I’ll be darned if I can put my finger on where the spot Trump says to Zelensky something approaching “if you investigate Joe Biden, I’ll give you money”…

You don’t have to say that outright for the meaning to be clear.
It’s not clear to me, nor does it appear to be clear to Trump’s voters, and therein lies your problem. A partisan impeachment isn’t going to happen; you’re going to need significant Republican support to remove Trump, and it doesn’t exist. Now you (not “you” specifically) can gnash your teeth and pound your breast about how stupid Trump’s supporters are, but they are citizens, and they do get a vote. It’s the same problem Republicans had in 1998, and they actually controlled both Houses of Congress, unlike current Democrats. Right now, Trump looks like a better than even bet for re-election, and there’s no way you’re going to impeach a President than you can’t even beat.

Oh I completely agree with you - the Republican senators will vote to acquit. That doesn’t mean it’s not blindingly obvious that the president was running an extortion scheme.

Sondland (was it him?) said the President wasn’t interested in having an investigation, just the announcement of one.

Come on. I find that Trump supporters have to forget everything we know about the President to continue this line of defense. This is the guy who used a charitable foundation to pay his personal and campaign debts. This is a person who defrauded many people with a sham “university”. This is the guy that doesn’t pay his vendors.

All of a sudden you want us to believe he would never use his office to further his goals?
