Well I’m sure that petulant little display will go a long way to convince the world they should be taken seriously.Spanish gays and lesbians will welcome Pope Benedict XVI to their country at the weekend with a massive homosexual kiss-in to be staged in front of Barcelona’s cathedral.
Amen to that-just shows that they’re whiny and want to throw a tantrum so they can ‘force’ the Holy Father and the Church to ‘accept’ their immoral ‘lifestyle’.How mature, staging a big protest to stroke their own egos. I hope they know full well that the Pope couldn’t care less about their actions in regard to Church teaching.
I hope the Pope’s address is late afternoon, that way they will all have coarse 5 O’Clock stubble when they kiss (ouch!)Spanish gays and lesbians will welcome Pope Benedict XVI to their country at the weekend with a massive homosexual kiss-in to be staged in front of Barcelona’s cathedral.

If they felt the Church is irrelevant they would not feel a need to protest. You are correct in one thing and that is of the Church’s teachings are outdated and have been from the day Jesus founded the Church.I seriously doubt that, as many here have suggested, their objective is to change the Church or Pope’s mind about homosexuality. It strikes me more as an attempt to cast the Church’s teaching as outdated, or at least irrelevant to the homosexual community, and perhaps to convince others, non-Catholics and Catholics alike, that maybe it should be irrelevant to them as well.
I think it’s a good idea, and certainly more original and more likely to draw attention than waving signs and shouting, tactics that the organizers of the event have requested not be used.
The biggest mistake humans have made is thinking truth is a changing concept.an attempt to cast the Church’s teaching as outdated
Sorry, I wasn’t quite clear I don’t think. I meant relevant to them directly. Obviously (and unfortunately, from many perspectives), the Church’s position is not irrelevant to many people, and its indirect influence on laws and social conventions stands in opposition to their goals. If they felt the Church is irrelevant they would not feel a need to protest. You are ridiculous. Kissing is happiness? These people are *happy? *Militant homosexuals are madder than hell, just as many other militant anything are madder than hell. They are doing this to be obnoxious, but then, militant homosexuals are usually obnoxious.Sorry, I wasn’t quite clear I don’t think. I meant relevant to them directly. Their protest puts the Church in visual juxtaposition to a bunch of happy kissing couples, and might bring up the question in some peoples’ minds: “Hey, why should the Church get to tell these people they shouldn’t be happy?” Kissing in particular is a good choice for this protest, because it’s an action that everyone associates with love and happiness, as opposed to shouting and waving signs.
homosexuals, and tneir acvocates will NEVER REPENT , Their Goal , and the goal of pro-abortion catholics is to change the Church into a Moral Sewer. I think its about time for the PopeAmen to that-just shows that they’re whiny and want to throw a tantrum so they can ‘force’ the Holy Father and the Church to ‘accept’ their immoral ‘lifestyle’.
I wish they’d GET A LIFE! AND REPENT BEFORE THEY RISK THE FIRES OF HELL FOR THEIR SIN!
Sheesh…(I guess I’m kind of a crabby mood today)
You’re joking. Homosexuals and pro-abortion people are on two different spectra.homosexuals, and tneir acvocates will NEVER REPENT , Their Goal , and the goal of pro-abortion catholics is to change the Church into a Moral Sewer. I think its about time for the Pope
and his bishops to Remove the Evils of homosexuality and pro-abortion catholics from Roman Catholicism?
I didn’t say kissing is happiness, I said people associate kissing with love and happiness. I stand by that. What do you associate kissing with?Kissing is happiness?
Who are you to say they aren’t?These people are happy?
Militant homosexuals are madder than hell, just as many other militant anything are madder than hell.
JW10631;7241617:
Militant anythings are obnoxious to the people they’re opposed to. That’s kind of the point. If they weren’t obnoxious to you, they’d be doing something wrong. You can be madder than hell about a given issue and still be happy. Or are none of the people screaming outside abortion clinics happy? I wouldn’t presume to claim that, no matter how much I disagree with them.
JW10631;7241617:
They are doing this to be obnoxious, but then, militant homosexuals are usually obnoxious.
The church rightly rejects the use of anyterm other than pro-abortion to describe people who believe abortion should be legal. Tying infanticide up in nice little ribbons and euphemisms does not change the abject evil being supported by those who directly support abortion either by their action or their votes. You’re joking. Homosexuals and pro-abortion people are on two different spectra.
Homosexuals have an attraction towards members of the same sex. They may or may not act on it, and a large majority of gay Catholics do NOT act on it.
Pro-abortion people support the murder of babies (note, I said “pro-abortion”, meaning these people actually like abortion, so as to quote your words).
People who support abortion should also be treated with kindness and no unjust discrimination as should all.sinners.It’s ridiculous to compare the two, and even the Catechism states that homosexuals should be treated with kindness and with “no unjust discrimination”. Being gay is not a sin. Homosexual acts are, and most gay Catholics don’t even do this. You can’t be serious when you say “homosexuals will never repent” because being homosexual isn’t a sin and there’s no need for repentance. You can’t be serious when you say “remove the evils of homosexuality” because being gay in and of itself is not an evil.
It is difficult for many people the first time they run across unapologetic defense of the teachings of the church.Sometimes, I wonder about this forum.
EWTN is missing something then:None if it mattered after all.
I watched the EWTN broadcast and there wasn’t a peep seen or heard of the gay community there in Barcelona.
btw, the basilica is amazing!!!![]()
