I trust the Holy Spirit guiding the Church to help me interpret Scripture. That is why I know I cannot be mislead.
I trust the Holy Spirit guiding the Church to help me interpret Scripture. That is why I know I cannot be mislead.
I asked the question first how could I be dodging the answer?[SIGN] Dodge![/SIGN]
Yep.Good verse but we are talking about someone who is catholic already, he is just lukewarm. I donāt know what the teaching in the church is but once a person is confirmed could he still lose his salvation?
I know that the Catholic Church is the true church founded by Christ on Peter to which Christ guaranteed the protection of the Holy Spirit (not to me or you as individuals, nor to your denomination).I donāt know. Do you have the Holy Sprit dwelling inside of you? If so, how do you know and what are the signs?
So you know the Holy Sprit is dwelling inside of YOU, because He is guiding the church to help you interpret scripture?I trust the Holy Spirit guiding the Church to help me interpret Scripture. That is why I know I cannot be mislead.
Are you going to stick with Mannyās answer about knowing the Holy Spirit dwells inside of you?I agree.
Quick answer. I received the Holy Spirit during my baptism and again during my confirmation. The Holy Spirit guides me to God.So you know the Holy Sprit is dwelling inside of YOU, because He is guiding the church to help you interpret scripture?
Do you want to stick with that answer or adjust it?
And I thought you were tired and had to go to bed?
I received the Holy Spirit in my Baptism, and was given the increase and deepening of His grace in Confirmation. I know that I will always have the Holy Spirit in me as long as I am free from mortal sin. If I do commit mortal sin, all I need to do is receive absolution from a priest in the Sacrament of Penance, and I will have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me again. You said that you were a Catholic. You can have the Holy Spirit again if you return to the Church and confess your sins to a priest.I donāt know. Do you have the Holy Sprit dwelling inside of you? If so, how do you know and what are the signs?
So, here is your argument:The verse (2 Timothy 3:17) says I can be complete using scripture alone.
Apology accepted.I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any person I offended on this site.
As you can see I have a lot of pent up anger for things that I have gone through with the Catholic church.
That is no reason to take it out on innocent good catholic people. You are zealous faithful people and I respect that.
We differ on doctrinal isssues but we should all be of one body. That might be hard because we differ so much.
Again, sorry for any offences.
I also would like to thank many of you for being so patient and reserved. I did notice many of you were restraining from really getting angry at some things I said.God Bless you for that lesson in maturity.
Not sure about dwelling in- side, but WAIT FOR IT !!!I donāt know. Do you have the Holy Sprit dwelling inside of you? If so, how do you know and what are the signs?
Hi Eireann - totally off topic here but that pic in your signature totally reminds me of one of my sisters - she played Mary in the school Christmas pageant when she was younger too, maybe that has something to do with itNot sure about dwelling in- side, but WAIT FOR IT !!!
1Cor.12
**3 **Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says āJesus be cursed!ā and no one can say āJesus is Lordā except by the Holy Spirit.
Iām just wondering why you put Fatima in this thread title, has it been discussed ? if it has it has surely been out-weighed by other topics.
Halleys is a bible handbook.
What is your question?
Well the Holy Spirit speaks through me.
Itās supposed to be a miraculous picture, canāt say much more on the subject, if you want to know more, PM me.Hi Eireann - totally off topic here but that pic in your signature totally reminds me of one of my sisters - she played Mary in the school Christmas pageant when she was younger too, maybe that has something to do with it![]()
The Bible encourages that we correct each other. I guess we walk by faith and not by sight. Not everything is going to be easy. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ has the Holy Spirit. Iām being nice here but I cannot believe that you donāt know this. But how can your brother correct you? If your fallible interpretation is incorrect, could your brotherās be incorrect as well? Also, who really receives the Holy Spirit? You? A methodist? If the Holy Spirit allows for one to see the truth in scripture, why are we fighting? Sola fide, sola scriptura, or faith and good works? 3 interpretations, one Spirit. āHoly Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so they may be one just as we are.ā (John 17:11) Is Jesusā prayer going unanswered?
