That is a great reply, you’ve got me rolling :rotfl:
That is quite funny…right there

I let my 8,3 and 4 yr. olds watch SpongeBob. It is a silly show. Why don’t you deciede… Why don’t you watch it and deciede for yourself, because you know your kids best 😃

Just heard on the radio:
The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie took in $33.5 Million this weekend, not enough but almost the number one movie of the weekend. The Incredibles came in third.

For someone like me I have yet to even ‘see’ a Spongebob program, yet I just seem to report the news I hear on the radio or see on the Internet.

No wonder that there was a Spongebob balloon at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Now on EBay, I saw Spongebob Christmas orinaments. I guess I’d better see what I am missing?

My :twocents::

The cartoon is really good, creative, and the incedentals are great. The movie was aweful. They took a ten minute episode and stretched it into a movie.

One other thing: Some of Squidwards likes, dislikes, and actions have a homosexual overtone.

Totally agree with Mark a about the movie. It was truly awful and kinda made itself up as it went along - a bit like a surreal dream, or in this case a nightmare. The cartoons are fun but the movie, well, if it had been real actors and not animated characters, it would have been ‘R’ rated for violence, Horribly cynical too. As for David Hasselhoff, (‘David who?’ cry the children!) I think he was given a sorry deal - although a step up from Baywatch for sure!

Cartoons 👍

Movie

Debbie makes some excellent point.

Personally, I do not allow my son to watch most cartoons on Nickelodeon (the channel that produces SpongeBob). I find to characters to be rude, disrespectful, and use language I would prefer my child not hear nor use. i.e there was once an episode where to be popular SpongeBob continued to put down a friend and continually call her stupid and make fun of her. Just not my cup of tea, others might find it humourous but I find it nothing but potty humour.

I would suggest if you want to know if this show is for you watch a few episodes when the children our doing a different activity, that way you can decide yourself.
Personally I think SpongeBob is funny in a stupid sort of way. My kids are 7 and 9 and absolutely love it!

By the way, in the episode you’re talking about SpongeBob was trying to be funny in a comedy club and got big laughs making fun of his friend. In the end he learned that it was hurting her and and keeping her as a friend was more important then being funny. He ended up finding another way to be funny. I didn’t think that episode was half bad.

The movie? Now THAT’S really stupid! And not particularly in a funny sort of way. I much preferred The Incredibles.

In Christ,
Nancy 🙂

I’m on a posting rampage today 😃

The only good cartoon nick has had out since doug and rugrats were first on… a billion years ago (oh my gosh, I just checked tvtome for the actual date… 1991…) was invader zim, which they cancelled sometime during the second season (probably in part because sb was much more popular), and which isn’t really for kids under ten anyway. They either won’t get it, or it’ll scare the **** outta them. Or both.

I’m sorta biased against sb for that reason… but I have watched some of it… and I think it’s one of the most annoying cartoons EVER. You don’t want your kids quoting that stuff, it’d drive you nuts.

I definately agree with people who said you should watch it first and then decide based on what you’ve seen. Have no fear, be a TV nazi :rotfl:

The fast-food restaurant received a tip about an individual who took Sponge Bob. When police went to the residence, where SpongeBob was located under a bed in the suspect’s bedroom.

The 9-foot SpongeBob was taken from the roof ot the Vermilion Burger King on Nov. 20.

John Baldwin, 20, was charged with receiving stolen property. Two others are being investigated in connection with the case.

There have been other SpongeBob thefts across the country. (end of story)

Doesn’t this happend everytime this year?
Some animated film character is hyped and it the adults that go crazy! :whacky:

From Christmas toys: Cabbage Patch Kids (1984), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1988), Tickle Me Elmo, Barney, X-Men and now SpongeBob, who are the adults and who are the children?

Just enjoy the cartoons or movies, not act like being in one.

Go with God!
Edwin
