BTW your faith "catholic’ is small c. Is that intentional? I just want to understand your perspective.

No, not intentional. I do mean it in the sense that we pray it in the creed. IE universal. 🙂

IE there being different rites and churches within the universal church. IE not Roman exclusively. 🙂

Thanks. I’ve seen other such as Latin Rite and wasn’t sure what you meant.

Well, west of the Cascades. Which is why I’m back over on the east side. Where the world is still sane.
Yes huge differences in these states. The big urban areas are uber-liberal and the rest of the state is pretty conservative. Portland has always had a large and vocal gay community. One of our former police chief’s daughter was Lesbian so he started the tradition of some police presence at the march (marching not providing security). Last weekend we had the naked bike ride. One of my friends was riding the Max (electric train) and it had to stop for about 30 minutes to let the bike riders pass. There were thousands of them. Then there was a “clothing optional” opening at the Portland Art Museum that night. However this probably would not happen east of the Cascades or south of Eugene 🙂

There are bumper stickers that say “Keep Portland Weird.” They mean it!

Perhaps we need pray that St. Andrew receives a large number of RCIA applicants and that they can find the resources to accommodate them. Although this looks like Dhimmitude on these peoples part to me. Not something the Holy Martyrs would have done.
