Yes, this thread has evolved into a sobbing rant. We have all had harsh things said to us (if we’ve been here long enough). Words without faces sometimes become distorted and the true meaning of what one is saying (writing) gets lost in some cases.

Stacy Dash had every right to speak her mind, and defending oneself is important. She simply stated a view that contradicted the consensus of her race.
My concern is that Christ’s words become lost, if not forgotten. 😦

Ugh.

Thought I would be reading about Stacey Dash’s Twitter exchanges…
yeah, looks like the thread was hijacked several pages ago! 🤷

how dare a black actress say she is voting for Romney! the liberals are such bullies aren’t they? you should read what people wrote about her. she has shown courage i will say that!

Lets get back to topic (which has been said a couple times before).
Stacey Dash will be on Piers Morgan or whatever his name is tonight (new Larry King guy).

I don’t know what her stance is. What I mean is I know she supports Romney but is she a Conservative or just someone that thinks Romney will do a better job? This could also open the door to an often buried topic about African Americans that are villified for voting outside their normal leanings.

I’m amazed that, in the year 2012, minorities still get away with disrespecting one of their own if they stray from consensus thought. Imagine what would happen if whites were to insist that all whites vote for Romney because he’s white. With 97% or so of the African-American population supporting Obama, the reason becomes obvious, at least for the majority of the group. If Obama’s desirability as a candidate was so great, we would see similar percentages among Caucasian, Hispanic, and Asian populations. We do not. Stacy Dash made a bold stand and must be respected for doing so.

What happens to blacks when they stray is abominable. Hermann Cain, Clarence Thomas, et al.

Disgusting.

I’m sorry you feel that way. The Church has specific teachings on conscience. I’m staying with mine. As I said, I’m not trying to change other people’s minds. They should follow their conscience. What bothers me is the lack of charity people feel free to utilize to promote a candidate.
Well, there’s a lot at stake with this election. People are afraid and sick at heart at what might happen, and probably will, if Obama retakes the office. That’s no excuse for the lack of charity, but that’s the primary reason.

She may not have even given support to Romney thinking she was making a stand. She could have been tweeting from the hip and then realized the “negative” “must vote for Obama” stance when she was attacked. I don’t know but will tune in tonight .

There seems to be a double standard being overlooked here. Look through these forums and see what happens to someone who show support for other candidates, or even stating they will not vote at all.
Only a double standard if you consider telling someone “voting for a third party is throwing away your vote” the same as “go kill yourself.” (Not that I have ever said either on here.)

Please. That’s like comparing Pol Pot to someone who burped in public once without saying “excuse me.”

Robert Bay runs a tight ship around here.

By anyone…
Like…Jesus maybe??? Matthew 10:34-36

10.34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 10.35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 10.36 and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.”

I agree with you PS1, people who blast this young black American for daring to differ from the “democrat plantation” mentality have forgoten the words Of Jesus.

Here is another quote fro us;

5.13.“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.”

If we sound just like the rest who proclaim anything but truth, we too will lose our seasoning and be of no use but to be trappled on under foot.

Just reminding us of His Word. He knew it would drive wedges into the masses. Now, quit with teh vitim talk and discuss the topic.

It is shameful that every time a black person aligns themselves with conservative ideas and/or candidates this happens. Evil and mean things happen because of intolerance, but it is not coming from the right; the right is just going after Big Bird…😃

Ok, let’s discuss the topic. While race played a factor in those who attacked her, race is also being played in her defense. A whole group of people are being stereotyped in some of these posts. Ms. Dash has a right to her view, as do others, based on their citizenship. Do you really think that a majority of people who do not support Romney find these actions acceptable? That’s how it’s being portrayed. Two wrongs do not make a right.

When your dealing with a 96% block of one group that votes for Obama, there is no stereotyping going on.
