That wasn’t very nice. I’m sorry that happened to you. I know (believe me I know) how politically charged the country is right now.

On one hand, there is an argument to be made that a write-in (assuming it is a conservative write-in) or non-vote is effectively another vote to re-elect the president-- the enemy of my enemy is my friend philosophy.

Bottom line is that it is your right to vote for whomever you choose. I would be prepared to explain WHY you intend to vote that way, but attacked-- that is just not productive.
Basically he is upset because when he misstates Catholic teaching people call him out on it.

Like…Jesus maybe??? Matthew 10:34-36

10.34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 10.35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 10.36 and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.”

I agree with you PS1, people who blast this young black American for daring to differ from the “democrat plantation” mentality have forgoten the words Of Jesus.

Here is another quote fro us;

5.13.“You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men.”

If we sound just like the rest who proclaim anything but truth, we too will lose our seasoning and be of no use but to be trappled on under foot.

Just reminding us of His Word. He knew it would drive wedges into the masses. Now, quit with teh vitim talk and discuss the topic.

It is shameful that every time a black person aligns themselves with conservative ideas and/or candidates this happens. Evil and mean things happen because of intolerance, but it is not coming from the right; the right is just going after Big Bird…😃
Are clergy allowed to leave marks like that on unsuspecting members of the laity?

I thought that went out with The Spirit of Vatican II™

😃

We are not Christ. Christ prayed for us to be one, as He and the Father are one. I cannot find a teaching of Christ that politicizes anyone.

Are you preaching from the gospel of NICE? Jesus stated he would divide mother and daughter, father and son. We are not Christ, but we are His body He is the Head of us, His Church.

Either preach the entire bible or sit down and sh…I mean remain quiet. Last weekend’s Gospel message included a word, “millstone”. Remember where it went and what it did if we choose to lead one of His little ones astray?

We are not Christ. He commissioned no laity to divide. Those who would divide are inviting others to go astray, yet without any authority. Christ will divide with His justice, as He divided believer and non believer.

Ok…

My comment:

Typical for leftist “tolerance”. I chuckle that whenever a minority person dares to support somebody other than the minority/leftist candidate, they are instantly targeted for the most vile racist character assassination.

Yet conservatives are the racists.

Go figure.
I think I like Stacey Dash just a little bit more because of this. I’m ethnically Black-American but racially mulatto/biracial. And I’ve only voted for a Republican once in my life (being a one issue voter at that moment) and to my great regret. I’m demoralized to the point of being indifferent to both parties now. The Democrats attacks on Christianity, Catholicism, but most especially the figure of the Virgin Mary has withdrawn my sword from their camp. And I personally believe that party has been infiltrated by members of the Satanic Church. I know most people find that view of mine kooky.

It’s unusual to have a black woman support a Republican candidate. And in part because white racists seem to have infiltrated that party by perhaps at least the 1970’s. I do believe there are mores racists in the Republican Party than in the Democrats.

But the problem is not all Republicans are racists or even mean spirited people. Honestly, I’ve met the most charitable people from both parties.

But my criticism of Black-Americans is that few of them think critically about the Democratic Party. I don’t necessarily ask anyone to agree with me but just to question some of the agendas in the political party you support.

And no… I won’t vote.

Catholics on here question some who say they will not vote because Catholic teaching says Catholics have a duty to vote

Catholics question question Catholics for voting for pro abortion candidates because Catholic teaching prohibits it when there is a pro life alternative. Why would Catholics want to sit by while pro abortion voting Catholcis are putting the state of their soul at risk? Totally different from the vitriol that Stacey Dash has recieved
That’s all a gross oversimplification in my opinion. For one, I voted for George Bush Jr. and abortion remained legal and abortion remains legal. Not to mention he brought a holocaust to the Iraqi civilization. I don’t know the exact figures on the number of Iraqi men that have been killed in the combined U.S. wars on Iraq but I’ll hazard a guess it tops over 100,000. I suspect the number of child deaths and even miscarriages resulting from those frightening, high technologically explosive wars were pretty many too.

That administration wanted to nuclearize outer-space too - in a belligerent violation of an internationally signed treaty stating not to arm outer-space as it is the patrimony of all humanity.

Voting for a anti-abortion but pro-nuclear apocalyptic candidate is no profound choice or moral righteousness.

Democracy in the United States is largely an illusion anyways. The whole show is engineered and rigged. I suspect that democracy can only be kept pure if a population never exceeds a certain size. What size that I don’t know but I suspect it’s far smaller than 300 million people. In a more pure democracy we are all acquaintances of the candidates and of those that are elected representatives. Neither Romney nor Obama knows I exist. However they rose they dis so through powerful circles so far removed from mine that I might as well be living in Pakistan.

And it does not logically follow that rape, murder, or abortion has to be outlawed otherwise I either make a person commit those evils or I fail to stop them from committing those evils if I don’t vote. That does not logically follow.

I would argue that a minority voting to change Sodom will not cause Sodom to change. Sodom itself - the majority (in their hearts and minds) have to change.

How about the 123,000+ who died during the “no fly zone” and embargo that existed all during the 90s up to 2003?

Just askin’

White racists in the Republican party, I’m sure there are some, just like there was the longest serving senator in the Democratic party who ran his own KKK Klan . There are bad elements in both parties , that is not a reason to throw up your hands and not vote. Presidents appoint Supreme court judges that can effect your life among other things…

Racism is not restricted to a particular political party. A past grand wizard was democrat; however, in 1989, he found the republican party more closely matched his views. Does this implicate the entire party? No. Just as a longest serving senator in the democratic party does not represent an entire party. This is despite some insinuations that would rather prove otherwise.

Since Roe vs. Wade, the majority of supreme court justices were appointed by republicans. In fact, even with the two appointments by the current administration, the majority of serving justices were appointed by republicans. It’s hard to make the ‘one more justice’ argument have value knowing this.

I always have thought Stacey is a darling, not that I’ve ever met her, but I do think a strong soul can show through a person. I am not defending Republicans, whom have their own problems. But I have noticed the disturbing trend that the dems fight racism by enforcing racism, fight for tolerance with intolerance, and give alms by forcing everyone else to give to the state. Racism is still an issue in this nation, not because the majority are still racist but because “racism” is daily accused in our media, whether or not it truly applies. (not to deny that it still exists, but it is definitely NOT just a “black” vs “white” issue)

I’d never heard of Stacey Dash until this all lit up. I think those that get their political opinions from celebrities should check themselves. What I found interesting here was the REACTION to her endorsement. A friend of mine (pro-Obama) recently sent me a Daily Kos article stating those that oppose Obama are subliminal racists…I sent him the responses to Ms. Dash and asked which was more racist.
