Star Wars is still the best.

Happy 30th anniversary to Star Wars on May 25th!!!

p.s. Episode 3 is violent, the darkest of the 6 films. I HATED it because of the fate for Padme, the twins’ mother. I only saw it once in the theatre and do not own it on DVD.

.

Definitely Star Trek, even the worst of the movies.

Except for that last TV series (Enterprise?). Just never could get into that one.

I like Star Trek better. Star Wars is totally New Age.

“Trust your Feelings”

You do know that that would eventually be her fate, right?

Dying of a broken heart after being nearly choked to death? No. I knew she would die, but its not the way I imagined her death to be. Still didn’t explain that line in ROTJ of Leia having 'images and feelings" of her mother and Luke doesn’t (and he was born first).

I also hated the killing of the younglings, that was out of line.

I love ROTJ and ANH, and could are less about ESB.

I’m with Cupofkindness on this one. TNG’s “The Inner Light” is a beautiful example of storytelling, a tamer version of Nolan’s Memento, really. There’s an episode from DS9 very much like it, “The Visitor.” Both of these hit all the right buttons of redemption and what I would call Christian struggle – though the episodes would not, of course.

All of Star Wars is worth it to me (okay, maybe not JarJar) just for the scene in Episode VI in which Vader tosses the Emperor to his death – one of the most moving and archetypal scenes of redemption I’ve witnessed. Moreso, in fact, in light of Episode III.

Speaking of messianic SF, I wonder if there’s a discussion of Dune around here…

In order to be sincere… I love Star Wars while Star Trek is totally indifferent to me. Star Trek (which will have an episode 11 in the theaters soon) can be very advanced tecnologically, but it hasn’t the beauty and magic of Star Wars!

I’m a little late on this poll, but my vote is for Star Wars. besides Obi Wan was Catholic. 👍 Although, George has gone off the deep end with all the changes and now jumping on the 3D bandwagon, I will probably still go out and see it. 🤓

I do enjoy Star Trek on occasion though, but have to take it in small doses.

Whoa! This thread is still going on after all these years??? Someone get the license plate of that Wookie who phasered me! I’m feeling tribbley…

*Ontologically *Star Trek.

(but the three originals in particular of Star Wars are of course great movies)

(but Tolkien beats them all…)

As big of a Stars Wars fan that I am, i’ve never, even been able to get into Star Trek.

The end of Star Trek for me came sometime in Season 2 when they did a brain transplant on Spock, and he was conscious and told them which nerves to connect and when !!!

The end of Star Wars for me came after Episode 4.

Sorry, I didn’t look at how old it was and performed a thread necromancy :o …

Star Wars was a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away… Which would mean, that their civilization, at the time of Star Trek, would have better ships, better use of the force, (Both good and bad!) and would probably incinerate, in any type of battle… So Star Wars would win in a war…

However, I feel, what would happen is… The Romulans,Ferengi and those opposed to the Federation, would join forces with the Dark Lords of the Sith… While the Federation would joing forces with the Jedi council, in which, again, the good side would win! 😃

I love star wars. Don’t care for Trek. However, since I had a love for Reading Rainbow, I do have a bookmark with Geordi La Forge on it (played by LeVar Burton). That’s as far as I go with star trek.

Want to know something really cool, about his Visor? Scientists have discovered a way to make blind people see the infrared spectrum! Pretty cool, eh?

I like the Star Trek movies and enjoy the shows when I ever watch them. I love the original Star Wars films a lot though I don’t care for the prequels. I guess I would say I like Star Wars more. Both are great though :D.
