Service to the nation trashing Bill Clinton every weekday for 8 years? And Obama for another 8 years?
Who else is more responsible for a divided nation where in the SOTU address the president refuses the speakers handshake and the speaker rips his speech?
Why should he want to shake the hand of a woman who led the House in a vindictve, partisan and unfair
impeachment process and said “I want him to know he
is impeached forever.” ? Nancy is an entitled angry
politician who disgraced herself anf the position she
holds. @Maximus1

In fairness to POTUS, he did an excellent job following the words given him on the teleprompter, especially given the fact that the only hope for a legacy he holds will be the inclusion in the small group of impeached presidents. So, I’ll give him that.,
I believe this would fall under the category of what we
call “sour grapes”. @redal

Could be. Would make more sense, as she is generally pretty in control of things.

It is a great danger to the nation to hold to that line of thinking that the acts committed by the president and detailed by the House managers are not a crime.
To think that non-crimes are crimes, and an attempted coup d’état by the Deep State, initiated by the Fifth Column in the United States is the great danger to this nation. Pelosi’s Democrats violated and subverted the US Constitution by voting to approve impeachment based on no crime. The Democrat flawed partisan impeachment of Trump violated the US Constitution created by the Founding Fathers and was also a frontal attack on the US Justice System.

To me she came off as a hero protecting her house from a crook

@GKMotley
My point is that I was not able to see, or to recall, whether Trump shook hands with Pelosi. Hence the inquiry.
He did not shake Pelosi’s hand. I am not sure if he
shook Pence’s. I can’t remember.

If you think that is how the average person sees her actions, so be it. I suspect you are in the minority, but in the end, who cares anyway.

Petty Pelosi had a temper tantrum for all to see on National TV. She missed the inspirational moments because she’s just pissed off. She couldn’t even stand for the little girl getting to go to the school of her choice. This will be Petty Pelosi’s legacy.

The news described it as a “tense address”. I didn’t notice any tension. Trump looked to me like he was having a lot of fun. And he should have been. What’s the score now? Trump 98: Democrats 0?

It is a much greater crime to believe the lies of the House Managers when they have NOT proven their case. The acquittal today will exonerate Trump, but the memory held by those who fell for the Managers’ lies will not be easily erased.
Specifically, what lie or lies are you are talking about?
I am pleased that some Senate Republicans are willing to go so far as to state the that House Mangers did in fact make the case - even if they do not think that it rises to the level of removal from office. Deny the facts, or claiming that Trump did nothign wrong is worrisome.
The acquittal today will exonerate Trump
He will not be exonerated but will a President who was impeached, then acquitted in a sham trial.
To think that non-crimes are crimes
Have you yet read the Professor Bowie’s response to Deshowitz’s fatuous and dangerous take on this matter. Dershowitz pointed to Bowie as the one Constitutional scholar that he could cite as agreeing with his perspective. Bowie set him straight.

That’s what Trump thought when she waved her finger at him. America likes bullies put in their place

And the Constitution and words in it set Bowie straight.
Nope. Dershowitz argument is dangerous. It puts the president above the law.
Bowie gave a very clear account as to why Dershowitz’s fundamental argument is fatally flawed, not only in principle, but also in the very practice of the law in the US. I happy to find the link and repost it if that helps.

Yup. Bowie didn’t write the Constitution the last time I checked. His argument is the one that is dangerous as Dersowitz clearly outlined the reasons why and what our Founders feared so much. It’s why no one has ever been convicted of the fake crime of Abuse of Power during an impeachment trial.

I didn’t watch it either. Listened to it on the radio.

I just stuck a link there for the “gimme a link” thing.
I wished I had listened to it on the radio too. I found Nancy’s facial machinations distracting.

If you believe everything the Managers said, and disbelieve Trump’s lawyers who rebutted them, then nothing I contribute will change your mind. So why bother? What I CAN say, is that it is fitting for those on the outside (all of us) to possess their own versions and refrain from litigating their interpretations to anyone else who will listen.

Paving the way to that" scene in the house" that began with a handshake snub and ended with a speech ripping. I am glad he got his award in that particular SOTU.
It did not look like a snub to me. He seemed not to notice. He was ignoring her as much as possible.
