Here’s a reference about Jeus being the Messiah in the Quran.

3:45 When the angels said, “O Mary, truly God gives thee glad tidings of a Word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, high honored in this world and the Hereafter,
That doesn’t answer my question

Ye that is for you to decide.

Personally I have found great Bounty in trying to understand the Message of Muhammad and its application in today’s world.

It is as relevant today as it ever was, as is the Bible.

Today’s world needs more love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. 🙂

Is there an equivalent or reference in the Quran like this?

The Quran pays the greatest tribute to Jesus by calling Him the ‘Messiah’. As to the cross, Muslims have different traditions in how they express their beliefs like Catholics do but in the Quran of 1.6 billion Muslims, Jesus is known as the ‘Messiah’.
Can it be proven from the Quran, experiences that can trace Jesus’ work and with his disciples who were with him?

I’m not sure what you mean but the Quran says here that God sent down the Gospel.

God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting. 3 He sent down the Book upon thee in truth, confirming what was before it, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel (3:3)

Numerous martin, Numerous ;)😉

“O You who believe! Enter absolutely into peace (Islam). Do not follow in the footsteps of satan. He is an outright enemy to you.” (Holy Quran: 2, 208)

“We have appointed a law and a practice for every one of you. Had God willed, He would have made you a single community, but He wanted to test you regarding what has come to you. So compete with each other in doing good. Every one of you will return to God and He will inform you regarding the things about which you differed.” (Surat al-Ma’ida, 48)

“And in their (the earlier prophets) footsteps We sent Jesus the son o Mary, confirming the law that had come before him. We sent him the Gospel, therein was guidance and light and confirmation of the law that had come before him, a guidance and an admonition to those who fear God.” Qur’an:5:46

“Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden (paradise) whose width is that of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous – Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity or in adversity, who restrain (their) anger and pardon (all) men – for God loves those who do good.” Qur’an:3:133-134

The Gospels were slowly written down 20 or 30 years after Jesus ascension to Heaven.

Jesus is more than just the son of Mary.

These may be a part answers;
Code:
Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee SUPERIOR to those who reject faith, TO THE DAY OF RESURRECTION: Then shall ye all return unto Me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute." S. 3:55

O ye who believe! Be ye helpers of Allah: as said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the Disciples, "We are Allah's helpers!" then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, AND THEY BECAME THE ONES THAT PREVAILED. S. 61:14
61:6 And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.” But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, “this is evident sorcery!” 😉

If the quran is true, then islam is false. Why? Because the quran says to trust the Gospels, but the four Gospels contradict the quran. This means the quran can’t be true if it says the gospel message is also true.
None can change allah’s words
6:34, “Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers.”
6:115, “The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.”
18:27, “And recite (and teach) what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord: none can change His Words, and none wilt thou find as a refuge other than Him.”

Moses was given the Torah
2:87, “We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?–Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!”
3:3, “It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).”

Jesus was given the gospel
57:27, “Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.”

Ask Christians about spiritual things
10:94, “If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt.”

Curse on those who say God has a son
9:30, “The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!”

If the quran confirms the Gospels which say that Jesus was crucified and the quran says Jesus was not crucified (surah 4:157), then the quran is false. But if it says that the Gospels are false, then the quran denies its own teaching, and islam is false.
Yes nobody can change Allah’s words and Allah protect words through Qur’an for ever! But human do not apply words of God exactly and human try to change it according to self desires. Jews disobey and did not apply Torah many times so they persecuted prophets.

Qur’an say nobody is Son of God literally as Christians claim Jesus to be another God. Otherwise Son of God is a metaphor which can be used for Jesus. We all can be children of God! Amin!

Gospels were not written by Jesus directly and there are no original texts. A crucifixion was exist which Qur’an confirm. Someone was crucifixed and people thought that it was Jesus so writer of Gospel wrote Jesus was crucifixed because someone else who looks like Him was crucifixed. Did Jesus say “I was crucifixed”

Qur’an and Islam are ture and do not conflict with Bible but they conflict with whom misinterpret Bible. In Bible Jesus implied that He was a prophet and directly said that God is one!
So the strained interpretations conflict with Qur’an and Islam but not Jesus or Bible themselves.

Dear Techno,

I love your caution. It is not only commendable but essential to ‘try the spirits whether they are of God or not’ but not so fast.

Christ goes on to say:

1 John 4:2

This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.

And what does the Quran say:

3: 45. The Angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest.

Muhammad acknowledges that Christ was a real person in a real body so according to 1 John 4:2 He has the Spirit of God.

There are innumerable passages that acknowledge Christ as coming to this world and being the Messiah. This is proven by many verses in the Quran not just the one above.

Muhammad only acknowledges Jesus as… “son of Mary” never as “Son of God” or “Son of the Father” also a Messiah can mean anything it’s very vague . No Christian ever address Jesus as “son of Mary” Muhammad is using a half-truth to show that Jesus only comes from a mortal Mother and that makes Jesus only a mere mortal too.Muhammad meets the criteria of… 1 John 2:22 .

Muslims do not deny Christ. We confess to believe in Father(God) which Jesus confirmed but we do not follow on assumptions and mysteries. We do not avoid from disparagement of libelers. We are in light of Torah, Bible and Qur’an.

So, is Jesus… The only Begotten Son of the Father ?

Was not Jesus a human? Jesus had lived just like a human. He had to eat and drink to live.

Did eternal essence of God settle in Jesus body? Did Jesus not have a human soul? But essence of God can contact with soul of every human. So what made Jesus special to be different? Were/are souls of other people created by other gods or physical laws or cosmic energy? Every soul of human is a mirror for manifestation of God.

Jesus does not get more importance by being God because Jesus was sent by authority of God. So to rebel against and deny Jesus mean to rebel against God. And believing in Jesus mean to believe in God. Even if Jesus was such part of divinity yet all three gods are one in essence which mean one God. So the conclusion do not change but one way is very difficult and dangerous. Qur’an show the easy and safe way.

So, is Jesus… The only Begotten Son of the Father ?
Provided that if we consider “begotten” to be created later(Indeed it is so). That mean Father created and put soul of Jesus in womb without a father. So Jesus metaphorically may supposed to be Son of Father.

“It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” John 6:63

The **flesh **(Human Reason ) is of no avail in trying to understand Supernatural spiritual things like the Trinity and the Eucharist .

The spirit is source of life, mind, senses etc. Spirit is ever lasting by power of God. Spirit has intellect to understand and get knowledge but the mortal intellect cannot measure and evaluate eternal essence.

It is more big(responsibilty) to say eternal essence incarnated than to say it not. Because the normal situation for eternal essence is to stand out of time and matter. But claiming that eternal essence got into flesh is beyond of our comprhension to suppose. Yet it is not based on clear evidences.

God had given intellect to find Him but that intellect cannot understand the eternal essence. The mind can know existence of eternal essence through manifestations but mind cannot put eternal essence into limits.

So to say if God wish He can incarnate is no avail. It is like if God wish to eat or drink then He can do. But God do not need to eat and drink! God create food and liquids. So God create flesh and body but God has no ned for flesh and body.

True. Muhammad does not acknowledge that Jesus is the physical son of God in the sense that God doesn’t father any physical children.

In John 1:12

1.12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Son of God in John is speaking about a spiritual station not a physical thing. Christ is the Son of God and His true believers are also sons of God but that does not mean their physical bodies.

In Mark 2:10 He also refers to Himself as the Son of Man which also supports the view of the Quran which dose not deny His Divine authority only that He was not conceived physically but born of the Holy Spirit.

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sin
