I’m just wondering, do you think it would help your husband at all to go to R.C.I.A. to get a different perspective on how you view her death and how he currently does? Perhaps if your Pastor talked with you both and gave him some advice or something? It just seems that he doesn’t have all that you have and that you are better equipped to deal with this. I know that there are
moments where it is still very difficult, if not almost impossible to deal with even for those of us who do have great faith. (I would never give up praying for someone, don’t worry about that.)
** Well - he was going to look into becoming Catholic before McKayla died. He is so different from his family who are Fundamental Baptists and everything is about Jesus … even their acceptance to KK’s death - because she is with him.
I know where she is - but that doesn’t take away the ache that is ever constant.
Greg still is coming to church with us though - and ALWAYS goes up for a blessing if our Pastor is the one giving the blessing.
We will be seeing our Pastor soon - having dinner together. Perhaps I can draw a conversation to go that way.
Tomorrow night is McKayla’s AMS 2008 Class graduation. Amanda will be accepting an honorary (spelling) degree for KK … it is going to be a sad day - seeing all those wonderful kids crossing the stage … oh how are hearts will ache … but we so appreciate the school doing this … GOD IS GOOD.
Please keep us in your prayers …and as always, I am foever grateful.
Missing Graduate
Emma V. / TCF Valley Forge
Parents’ happy faces all around me, with a glow from within, Pomp and Circumstance is playing, now the program will begin.
The graduates are lined up, they are coming down the aisle, some have serious faces, yet some have a little smile. I look down the aisle, hoping for your face to come into sight, this is your class, it was to be your graduation night.
All the graduates pass by, but none of them are you. A tug of my heart tells me, you are not here — your death is true. God called you home…I wanted you here in such a bad way. Looking into your classmates’ faces, do they recall you, missing this day?
Memories, sweet memories, now fill my mind and heart. There will be no golden tassel, this day for my sweetheart. The class is Oh! So happy, this isn’t the time to be blue, now I must shake a hand, and get a hug or two.**
