You and your family are in our prayers.
Thank you - and thank you to everyone who has posted … it has helped.

We are having a snow storm in NH … McKayla loved the snow … oh God, please give us the strength to be able to continue without her … IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO HARD.

Moe,
What kind of person was McKayla? What was her personality like? How is Amanda doing and also your dear husband?
I understand how night time can be the worst. I am praying for you to have a special dream…
Lissa
She was quiet, yet strong … confident, yet shy … beautiful … she just had her braces off a week before her death.

She was always smiling … very concerned about the underdog … yet, accepted anyone.

She had more of a personality of a Cat – meaning … if she wanted affection she would ask for it … but if she didn’t - we wouldn’t be able to give it to her … because she was very independant.

Amanda is doing OK … although she misses her so much … they were like twins … only a year and a 9 days a part … Amanda was a triplet … and she was the only one who survived; McKayla was a twin … and I found out I was pregnant with her when I was hemorraging … not even knowing I was pregnant and the Dr. told me one twin didn’t make it …so surprised I was even pregnant. We were told we wouldn’t have kids …God has been good.

Greg is doing ok — missing her like crazy - just the best dad in the world. He is more functional during the day than i am - but crashes when he gets home.

We are so lost … we are barely funcitoning … our life has definatley changed forever at Shear Bliss Farm (the name of our home).

God the pain is unbearable!!!

I know that the pain must be immense. Thank you for sharing a little bit about your daughter.
You, Greg, and Amanda are in my prayers. I’m holding you up to the Lord.

A couple other book suggestions - they helped at different times…When a Child Dies (Pregent, Carol [1992]); After the Darkest Hour the Sun Will Shine Again (Mehren, Elizabeth [1997]); A Mother’s Grief Observed (Faber, Rebecca [1997]).

Praying for your peace

Hello Moe,

I just finished the entire thread and want to say some things. Our 1 1/2 year old boy died in his sleep on March 27th. It’s day 17. I feel like my life is the mirror image of yours. Your feelings, the pain, the hopelessness, even the yearning to see Justin in my dreams. I haven’t yet by the way.

My worst time of the day is the morning. I can barely roll out of bed but I have to go to work. Evenings for me seem better. I do my best praying then. I will pray for you and McKayla and Amanda. Just think, McKayla is up with my Justin in heaven. They would love each other I’m sure. He was the jolliest little guy with the most pure love I have ever witnessed.

I really think the prayers are getting my wife and me through this. For my CAF friends, if you could add the Sheaff Family to your lists, we would appreciate it.

My faith is at an all time high, thank you God. Although I know Justin is in heaven, I still miss him so terribly much. He was my little boy. I planned my whole life around him. I imagined fishing trips, camping, teaching him the guitar, and what a wonderful person he was going to be. My human nature is finding this part very hard. Oh, how I wish I could see him again. I still hope for a dream. But I know one day, we will be reunited in heaven. What a wonderful future.

We have a 4 year old girl who doesn’t quite understand everything. She talks about him everyday.

Anyway, I will keep you in my prayers. I sent you an email and would love to correspond if you feel the same.

Love and prayers,
Pete

Pete, we will hold your family up to God. Keep us posted. I’ll pray earnestly for your pain.

We are still receiving sympathy cards … we have received well over 1000 cards … and today I received a 5 page letter from McKayla’s Best Friends Mom … and it brought me to my Knees in tears … If McKayla ever knew how much she affected people in her life … she would be very surprised … she had a quiet strength … she was shy, yet confident … and didn’t have a big ego … no ego at all …

I can’t understand why she was taken … but we do trust in the Lord’s plan … although the pain is great and we miss her.
I just read this post for the first time… and I wept at my desk for the loss of your precious daughter. No words can describe your pain I am sure. My prayers are with you and your family.

The only solace I could even think of as I read your words above is… imagine if her death brought a few more souls to Christ that may or would not have without this tragic event.

I also think of the pain God the Father might have felt as he witnessed his only Son beaten, whipped and bludgeoned, spat on and ultimately then crucified… sacrificing himself for us. I realize that the Father does feel your pain… that he knows hows you feel… and he is here with you now to comfort you.

My heart goes out to you.

Pete, please know that I am also praying for your family after the tragic loss of your beautiful little boy. I can’t imagine the pain that you & the Geisingers are going through. I will pray that Jesus will send your families extra angels when you need them most & continue to hold you close to His Sacred Heart.

Moe, I wanted to let you know I continue to pray for your whole family. You describe McKayla so beautifully. I’m still so sorry this happened. Poor Amanda also lost siblings at birth. I hope she doesn’t develop any form of survivor guilt. You have been given so much to bear already with the loss of your babies. I will think of your family this weekend & pray for you on Divine Mercy Sunday.

MMM1 - thank you … we so appreciate the prayers … it gives us what little strength we can muster up … our love … the geisinger’s of Mont Vernon 😦

Pete - I will keep you and your family in my prayers also.

Sometimes I think the grief and the pain were so strong, that it was impossible to dream about anything…or maybe I was dreaming, just not remembering the dream, as if my mind was protecting me from the pain of waking from the dream and ‘loosing’ him again.

After many months, I could dream again…the joyous dreams of our time with him, and the bittersweet dreams of how different our future could have been, and of the intense joy he must be experiencing, having finished his work here long before I did and being in the eternal presence of our Lord.

Peace,
Joan

I think that is where I am so scared … I have been Cathlic all my life and always believe in the afterlife … but now – at times I get so frightened to think that I shall never hold her again … and I am panicking about it … I miss her so and just want her back …

For a long time now I wanted to reply to this post but I didn’t know what to say. It broke my heart to read it. I just want to pass along my sympathies and to let you know that you will see your daughter again. She is still with you, and she will always be with you and your family. I don’t think god would have it any other way.
