I remember what I call the sorrowful firsts - first Christmas, first Easter, etc. On these days, the grief is so heavy and the time to smile and laugh seems so far away.

I am thinking of you and your family, and praying for your healing and peace.

Please my friends and compasionate people - keep us in prayer. Today - I had to purchase easter basket items for only one - our Amanda … the first time in 13 years … It is so hard … and we ache for our McKayla …
I recommend you to Our Lady of Sorrows this day, my wife is still grieving over the death of her mum who passed away 7 weeks ago.
This week someone sent her this letter, "A letter from Heaven "

Letter from Heaven
To my dearest family some things I’d like to say
But first of all to let you know that I arrived today,
I’m writing this from Heaven. Here I shall dwell with God above
Here, there’s no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and He said “I welcome you,
It’s good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you are part of my plan
There’s so much that we have to do to help our mortal man.”
God gave me a fist of things that he wished for me to do
And foremost on the list was to watch and care for you
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight
God and I are closest to you . . in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned
If I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand
But one thing is for certain though my life on earth is o’er
I’m closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
When you’re walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind
I’m walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind
And when it’s time for you to go . . from that body to be free
Remember you’re not going . . you’re just coming here to me.

Also, this, and it will make many cry, but tears are a gift from God.
I hope you aren’t offended by me posting this.

Thank you - our hearts are so heavy - this is the first time we had to do up an Easter Basket for only one of our girls … it is so very hard - please keep us in prayer 😦
You and your family will be in my prayers today, in these tough days for you.
I don’t know if you have reflected on this but hope it brings you some peace to think about how today we are celebrating how Jesus died for us so our death would only be a stepping stone to being with Him eternally. Though with heavy hearts because she is missed here on earth, we can celebrate that thanks to what we commemorate today we know McKayla can be Eternally with Our Father in Heaven, that He was waiting for Her.

I just wanted to share a few excerpts from the Holy Father’s Easter Vigil Homily.

“The vision of the Psalm thus became reality. In the impenetrable gloom of death Christ came like light – the night became as bright as day and the darkness became as light. And so the Church can rightly consider these words of thanksgiving and trust as words spoken by the Risen Lord to his Father: “Yes, I have journeyed to the uttermost depths of the earth, to the abyss of death, and brought them light; now I have risen and I am upheld for ever by your hands.” But these words of the Risen Christ to the Father have also become words which the Lord speaks to us: “I arose and now I am still with you,” he says to each of us. My hand upholds you. Wherever you may fall, you will always fall into my hands. I am present even at the door of death. Where no one can accompany you further, and where you can bring nothing, even there** I am waiting for you**, and** for you I will change darkness into light.**”
"Only the Risen Christ can bring us to complete union with God, to the place where our own powers are unable to bring us. Truly Christ puts the lost sheep upon his shoulders and carries it home. Clinging to his Body we have life, and in communion with his Body we reach the very heart of God. Only thus is death conquered, we are set free and our life is hope.

This is the joy of the Easter Vigil: we are free."

From the Catechism:
"1026 By his death and Resurrection, Jesus Christ has “opened” heaven to us. The life of the blessed consists in the full and perfect possession of the fruits of the redemption accomplished by Christ. He makes partners in his heavenly glorification those who have believed in him and remained faithful to his will. Heaven is the blessed community of all who are perfectly incorporated into Christ. "

I am not very good with words, and may not have chose the best excerpts to demonstrate what I am trying to say, but I hope that you can find some peace knowing that because of what we celebrate today, His Death and Resurrection, our death is only a door through which we can reach true and lasting joy. It is because of Easter that we can hope for eternal life with the Father, true Happiness.

Offended … not at all - it is beautiful … beautiful, thank you!

Thank you so much … words are beautiful … and yes there is light now … and our McKayla will see light only … no pain … we just miss her so much - she was part of us - but we know she is in a much more wonderful place.

This Easter Sunday morning the Priest, Fr Noel announced the death of a 13 year old girl, she passed away this weekend, her brain was starved of oxygen as a baby.
My mind raced with thoughts of you and how these poor parents must be feeling too.
I’m sure she depended on her parents for everything, but now she has been released to Eternal bliss, her name was Kathy.(I think)
Anyway, although grief is personal, it is world-wide, and an on-going cycle we all have to go through.

She will be buried tomorrow Easter Monday, I’m sure Mc’Kayla has met her already:) what a nice thought.

Anyway just wanted to share that with you, and I pray for your heartache and missing her to be relieved, I’m sure Mc’Kayla misses you all too.

I hope that God touches your hearts this Easter.

Just want to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers.

I am so sorry for you and your family and I will keep all of you in my prayers. Today would have been my beautiful daughters 24th birthday she was killed in a car accident almost six years ago. The pain will never go away but with God’s love and mercy you learn to live with it and all the happy, funny, good and bad times with her are remembered and treasured. It has only been in the past few months that I can speak of her and not have tears in my eyes. God is so good and I know that He will always keep her close to me. Stay with God he will never desert you or forsake you. He gave me strength to live when I did not know that I could go on.

Thank you RTMirage … we had our Easter celebration with our friends and family today — and one gentleman who has been coming for over a year … told us that he lost his son in a Car Accident … and we never new it … he was 19 … it is so sad … but I am glad that he opened up to us … and we now have a special bond.

Today not only was Easter ---- but my husband’s and I’s anniversary … 23 years … in the beginning I only wanted to die with McKayla … but now I know I have to live for him and our Amanda … I just ask God to give me the grace .

Happy Easter,

Moe Geisinger

I cannot imagine the pain you are going through. I can only offer my prayers for you during this time. We are all here for you. Keep posting.

Thank you, prayers have been the reason we have been able to get out of bed; the reason to be able to funciton … because if we did not have prayers … we will not be able to continue.

THANK YOU; THANK YOU; THANK YOU …

Moe, I just wanted to let you know that you and your family are still in our prayers. I lost my uncle and two grandfathers and one grandmother all in a two years span. The death of my uncle was the worse for he was still young and had small children. My grandparents were in their 90’s and were actually waiting to go home to Jesus. My mom took her brother’s death the hardest also. He died in November and lets say that Thanksgiving and Christmas that year was a very sad time. My uncle was a famous singer in his country of Puerto Rico and did most of his music at Christmas time. My mom was devastated at his death. She didn’t make it to Puerto Rico on time either to see him alive one last time. It is only now about two years after his death that she is able to talk about him without tears. He was my Godfather, but we were not that close because of living so far apart. I do miss him and my grandparents. THis is the first time any one has died in our family that we knew. I am so sorry for your lost and could not imagine if I lost my little girl. I think losing a child is one of the worse pains possible. Hang on to our Lady, Mother Mary, for she too knew of the pain of losing a child. She was went through intense pain watching him tortured and die. She knows exactly what you are going through.

You will be in my prayers and in the Rosary’s I offer up to Heaven.

I am sorry to hear that - I ask why he didn’t take me instread of a beautiful, talented, athletic, wonderful girl who was perfection on earth … Our hearts are broken.
Moe,
Quite simply, your work is not yet finished. Her’s is. On one level, you can legitimately be full of parental pride that in so short a life, your daughter completed her earthly mission. Your mission may be the simple faithful acceptance of this cross. That may be one of the most powerful witnesses to the Faith there is.

I know it is terrible. 😦 Today, we buried a 3 year old who was killed in a senseless drive by shooting. My son In Law and his whole company is grieving with the family. The father worked for my sil’s company. It is so hard to imagine losing such innocence so quickly and so violently.

Continued prayers for you and all affected by McKayla’s loss, and the loss of other loved ones, at this time of year.
