Angelina Jolie - actor
Anne Hathaway - actress
Bruce Springsteen - singer
I doubt any of those three identifies as Catholics or would stand up for it. The last time I read was that Jolie delving into Buddhism or something “spiritual” (I think), Hathaway and her immediate family left the Catholic Church because it didn’t support homosexual marriage (her brother is gay) and Springsteen? Yea, maybe when he was a kid, but today he’s pretty much the stereotypical Hollywood/entertainer ie non-religious and most likely left leaning.

A couple of Catholics that fell down a hole somewhere

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins

Deadpool, Daredevil and the Hulk in the Marvel Universe are all Catholic

Malcolm Muggeridge-Journalist and author. Convert.

Luciano Pavarotti-Operatic tenor

Supreme Court Justices: Roberts, Alito, Kennedy, Scalia, Thomas, Sotomayor.

Will Durant-Historian. Raised Catholic, went apostate for years, returned toward the end.

I was surprised to discover Bear Grylls isn’t in fact Catholic.

He remains however, the least surprisingly Christian “celebrity type” in modern times. 🙂

Pacquiao, unfortunately, is no longer Catholic, but an Evangelical Protestant. Funny thing is he got curbstomped in his first match as a Protestant.

I was watching EWTN recently (the Bishops meeting) and this little program called searching for faith or face or praying for peace came on and it had BING CROSBY…I love his rendition of White Christmas and never knew he was Catholic (he was before my time but still)…My dad said he knew that Bing had been Catholic.

And I find it ironic/amusing that Liam Niesson is the Voice of Aslan in the Narnia films. What a perfect choice for the Christ figure’s voice: a devout Catholic. 😉
I went to the same Jesuit High School as Bing Crosby… and former Speaker of the House Tom Foley… and John Stockton (star forward of the Utah Jazz)… and Julia Sweeney (“It’s Just Pat” from Saturday Night Live). All Catholics.

I recently found out that Martin Sheen got his stage name from Bishop Fulton Sheen. How cool is that?
Ah yes! Martin Sheen! I had a Great-Uncle who was a priest in Santa Barbara and did a movie with Martin Sheen for Marriage Encounter.

Side Note: My “Uncle Arthur” died of Alzheimers. I wish that I had gotten to know him better when I had the chance.
