That’s unfortunate because more guns more lives taken … The love of money being the source of this.
There are over 300M legally owned firearms in private hands in the US. Less than 1% have ever killed anybody. I’m not sure what money has to do with anything. I personally like shooting more than I like money, as my bank account can attest to.

I am all for a TOTAL BAN on the AK-15. Nobody should be allowed to own one and I believe that the TOTAL BAN on AK-15 ownership would satisfy all sides of the debate. 👍
Why? As mentioned above, they are used so rarely in crimes that the FBI doesn’t even bother to keep separate statistics.

Baseball bats kill more people each year than AR-15s

I have no problem with AR-15s or AK-47s, for that matter. But the AK-15 is something I am willing to ban and I think the headline would make everyone happy for awhile.

Forum master?

I don’t care what rifle is being used, they’re killing and maming people with a slip of a trigger, even a child can do it and has and it’s about time that NRA and folks like you acknowledged it. The more you all speak the more I am convicted that people just don’t care as long as they have their guns.

Except, they’re not, and the more you speak, the more I’m convinced that you really have no idea what you’re talking about, but you want to give everyone else the benefit of your ignorance.

Well…Karen 107 has given me the benefit of her ignorance…and she’s correct…some people don’t care how many people are killed…even innocent little school children…as long as they can keep spouting NRA propaganda and quoting the 2nd amendment as if it’s written by the finger of God…that’s what happens when people make idols out of their guns…common sense is replaced with idolatry.

I wonder how often “mental health” has been mentioned in this thread, it seems this is as much a key as well but I guess, it is easier to demonize the NRA.

Common sense? So, 250,000,000 guns are going to be confiscated?

What are the real solutions offered by critics?

Kindly prove your flat assertion that “some” people don’t care how many people are killed. You may not agree with the various positions expressed here, but disagreement with your preference is not the same thing as wishing ill or death on another person, child or otherwise. Framing the argument as the “NRA” and the second amendment vs God is a non-starter also, unless you can prove that flat assertion as well.

What do they call it when people make an “idol” of the promise of safety? You’re willing to give up your God given right to defend yourself and your family (see CCC 2265) for the promise that the same police that protected Freddy Gray, Eric Garner, and Michael Brown are going to be there when you need them. Talk about giving up your birthright for a mess of pottage.

Funny thing is I never said anything about giving up guns…or about not being able to protect oneself or family…but as soon as ANY form of gun control is mentioned…and that includes registration…oh no…they’re trying to take away our guns…we need them to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government…if anyone tried to become a dictator they would have to have the military behind them…anyone thinks they could stand up against that is living in la la land…and I don’t care if anyone knows how many guns I have…which is 4…or if they are registered…I’m not paranoid to believe the US government is plotting to enslave us all…and the real kicker is even after Sandy Hook…with the parents of the slain innocent children crying and pleading on national TV not one thing was done…why because gutless politicians…mainly republicans…but some Democrats were threatened by the NRA if they went along with the Obama administration and voted for any form of gun control…as far as I’m concerned the NRA hierarchy and anyone who wholeheartedly supports them has the blood of innocent men…women and children on their hands…as for mental health…well all other countries have mental health problems too…only difference is they don’t have the easy access to guns we have…now I know posters on here will be reading up on their NRA propaganda statistics and quoting their spiel…finally nowhere in CCC 2265 does it say “God given right”…it might be implied but not stated…but that’s just typical of those who spout off about the second amendment being a “God given right” also…

The people who are advocating for “common sense gun laws” like to use Australia and Great Britain as models for effective gun control. Both of those countries implemented bans and confiscation, of firearm, so you’ll forgive me if I’m skeptical of their good intentions. Especially given the rhetoric used against 2nd amendment supporters. Do you really think I’m inclined to give you more control over my life when you accuse law abiding citizens like me of having the “blood of innocent men, women, and children” on my hands? At that point my polite response becomes “Molon Labe”, and you really don’t want to see my impolite response, but I think there’s a “emoji” for it now.

Do you really think the military would obey an order to go after US citizens? If that’s the case, it makes a stronger case for resisting additional gun control. The current active strength of the armed forces is 1.5 million. I suspect they’d have a pretty rough time of even 10% of the 100 million legal gun owners resisted.

It’s called uncritical thinking, and a strong desire that your environment will change to suit your expectations.
