Taking down a poster a sin?

It isn’t in many places, actually. And regardless, you, as a citizen, do not have the right, according to what you have said, to destroy it either way if it isn;t yours. legal or not, that’s the government’s job. You are obliged to leave the porn up for all to see.

No, if it was porn, and if it was illegal thing, then it would be good to take it down. Show it to the police to verify what you have done and so they can make sure it doesn’t happen again. If a murderer was in the store and I knew it, I’d do something about it. It’s illegal, so as a citizen I should try to stop it.

That’s convenient. I said destroy it. Just because it is illegal doesn’t mean it belongs to you.

I know full well others don’t believe what we believe. As I know we are correct, I do what I can to stand up for my beliefs.

I was once Christian, and I don’t believe in sin, but I know what it is.

“As I know we are correct”…no, no, no. You BELIEVE you are correct. There is a difference.

I believe that all religions have grains of truth. I also believe that we all worship the same divine source, we all just have different wyas of percieving it. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. I stand up for my beliefs, but respect the beliefs of others. They may give me a new perspective. To me, there isn’t one truth out there. And for you to believe that you have it all right makes me think you are just a bit ignorant of others…

Yes, so take it to the cops. By law, they’d agree with you. They’d contact whoever posted it and do something about it. Nothing wrong or illegal there…

And stop comparing a FICTIONAL movie poster to porn. Big difference, buddy.

Like I said, I am am willing to accept that it is could be a sin, but only under the notion that allowing this kind of trash to sit and potenntially damage people could also be a sin.

And since they sit in direct opposition to each other… :confused:

No, we know we are. I am not going to sugercoat our beliefs. No disrespect to whatever you believe, but the Catholic Church is the fullness of the truth. Period. End of sentence.

But that is for another thread.

If someone came into your house and put the GC poster on your wall, yep - rip it up and throw it away.

Fiction in and of itself is fine. I posted in the thread on fanatsy literature the other day; I am an avid reader.

Garbage like TGC porn have other problems beyond beyond made up.

And that’s why so many people think Catholicism is one of the most ignorant religions on earth…Besides disagreeing with beliefs, the only big thing in Catholicism most can’t stand is it’s claim to have the full, whole truth. Didn’t you say somewhere in another post that no one is perfect? Well, when you have all the divine knowledge in the world then you can break the law as you will. But, sorry, you aren’t God and everyone, including me, does not fully understand the divine. So, really, you do not have the full truth, but onyl a part of it, like all other religions.

I might start a different thread for this…

And since the church teaches that you can not commit a sin even to prevent another sin, where does that leave you?

Did you expect to find a lot of lukewarm answers here from weakminded people?
 
So, He Man, you claim that you have the full Truth, nothing you say religious wise is wrong, and you have basically recieved all the knowledge that God has…because that would be the full, whole truth. I say this about very few things when it comes to religion, but you are wrong to even think for a moment that your faith has all the answers! No faith does! That’s why it’s called faith!

And by doing so, you would be going AGAINST what our faith officially teaches – we can not perform and evil act … taking something that isn’t our’s even for a good reason.
