I just listened to Ted Cruz (a man I did not vote for and would not vote for) drop out of the Republican race.

And I think he deserves our thanks and our prayers. He is clearly a man who loves this country. Would that we all remember his efforts with charity and respect.

God’s blessings to him and his family.
I missed his speech. I’d never have voted for him either. Nor will I vote for Donald Trump. But nicely put, Little Sheep.

:clapping::dancing: I am glad he is out. there was a time I considered him a good candidate. the man who really lost tonight is Glen Beck.
I have decided the Republican party probably is not a place for me anymore. I have seen the true colors of the establishment. I cannot return to being a democrat so I don’t know where that leaves me.

Pretty much the same place it leaves anyone with a bit of common sense.

Between a rock and a hard place.

I’m sad. I’d vote for Cruz with a clothespin on my nose but no I have no one to vote for.

Besides, I was SO looking forward to a donnybrook at the convention.
I’m with you re: the clothespin, and the donnybrook. 😦

No, now Glenn can eat again…
Gotta say, his radio show might be worth a listen tomorrow…

There seem to be so few with even a modicum of common sense this year. Lots of anger and vitriol, no common sense.

it certainly seems that way! I will be holding my nose to vote for Trump. I am hoping his behavior will improve between now and the convention. is there a chance of a contested convention yet? I don’t get cable or satellite.
Cruz is a decent guy and loves his country and the Constitution, but there was just something I couldn’t warm up to. I haven’t heard what John Kasich is doing now that Cruz dropped out.

One scenario I can see playing out is that the leftist violence that has become a mainstay at his event will become even stronger as the election gets nearer. This is the one thing that could work to Trump’s advantage, with the face of the mob being seen at the alternate to Trump.

John Kasich doesn’t much matter; he never did.

I agree. More energy and anger will be directed towards Trump.

This makes Trump vs. Clinton pretty much sealed in stone.

God Bless America always.

In one sense, I am happy Senator Cruz will be able to spend more family time.

But make no mistake. This is NOT a good occurrence for our country.

We finally had a real Constitutional Conservative in Ted Cruz and many in America rejected him.

This was not just “another election”.

The “too big to fail” banks are about a third larger than 2008.

International control of too many things to mention are being put in place under the false pretense of “global warming” and the religion of environmentalism.

Social Security is at a financial liability since 2011 for the country.

Massive foreign immigration is being encouraged by our Federal Government to provide cheap and plentiful labor, temporarily prop up a failing Social Security ponzi scheme that is now on “resuscitation efforts”, institute dramatic social change (or what Obama calls " a fundamental transformation"), and give Democrats a healthy injection of “voters” after they are granted citizenship.

American’s rights are being rapidly taken away (think First, Second, Fourth, and Tenth Amendments).

McConnell and Obama are reportedly planning to ram through TPP after the election but BEFORE this Congress is dismissed. A disasterous trade plan which will hurt American small business and erode American sovereignty. T-TIP can’t be far behind.

America’s U.S. debt is over nineteen trillion dollars.

Closely related, the “Obama economic recovery” was merely leveraged and financed by “the Fed” with zero percent interest rates (ZIRP) to “re-finance” and continue to postpone debt which WILL be demanded sooner or later (ZIRP will morph into NIRP and you will be required to pay the banks a quasi tax).

Other American “unfunded liabilities” well exceed a hundred trillion dollars.

All our major foreign trade partners are likewise carrying unsustainable debt (setting up a future disasterous “domino effect” on the world’s financial system).

International taxation has been suggested.

An international police power is being pushed by the global warming leaders.

The “designed to fail ObamaCare so we can get socialized medicine” in this country seems to be doing just what was designed to do.

Russia and China are sabre rattling.

Wanton Government subsidies has helped a free for all mentality by Universites (resulting in even MORE American student debt) not to mention the rampant corporate welfare that BIG Government and BIG Business help each other institute.

Despite phony unemployment numbers, more and more Americans are out of work because their biggest employer, small business, is being over regulated forcing it out of business or out of the country in some cases (and the jobs and profits likewise follow the businesses out of the country) but BIG business gets rid of competitors so they see this loss of small businesses as a “plus”.

The “American Dream” is slowly being replaced by “public housing”, “light rail”, and the “new soup kitchen” called food stamps (EBT cards).

Innocent pre born humans are purposefully killed and others “celebrate” it and push for more.

Money has been redefined as commodity backed issuances to debt and is now being further redefined as electronic debt which will serve to control currency users, and easier manipulate currency values.

Self-identity confusion (especially but not limited to gender confusion) runs rampant.

Terror attacks against us and we have had more threatened against us.

Government power structures (like the IRS) be abused for political gain and national leaders say there isn’t “a smidgen of corruption” involved with it when everybody knows there IS corruption.

Etc. etc.

This country had a tremendous candidate in Senator Cruz.

We decided to ask people like Hillary and Donald who are part of the problem (not part of the solution) to provide leadership.

I expect to see more personal attacks, the national press continue to love the drama, substantive issues continue to be ignored and replaced with more name calling, and this whole agenda I outlined continue on.

Sad day for America.

God bless.

To me, he (Cruz) hardly projects a image of a true Christian. Dr. Carson, OTOH certainly did. Too bad Cruz sandbagged him.

Good riddance to Cruz.

The image of a “true Christian”. OK.
  • Do you think Dr. Carson doing abortion referrals in his medical practice was “Christian”?
  • Do you think Dr. Carson MAY have lost some of the Iowa Pro-Life vote when he called for the " abortion pill" to be available in emergency rooms of hospitals?
  • How do you think the well-informed Pro-Life community in Iowa reacted when they heard Carson was doing research on aborted babies?
  • Obama once said saying when life begins was above his “pay grade”. Do you think it helped Carson’s poll numbers in Iowa when Carson ALSO waffled on when life begins?
  • Do you think it exhibited “truth” and a “Christisn image” when Carson said he and others were allegedly accosted by a robber at gunpoint at Popeye’s Chicken, when there is NO POLICE RECORD of such an occurrence?
Or is it Senator Cruz’s personal fault when Rubio’s people, Paul’s people, and Cruz’s people ALL forward a TRUE CNN news story (the news part came from Carson’s own staffer. CNN did the speculation) that was leaked to CNN by one of Carson’s own campaign staffers?

Rest in peace, G.O.P. 1854-2016 :harp:
You had a good run.
Oh come on…

After Mitt Romney lost in 2012, Forbes contributor Lawrence Hunter said, “It’s pathetic—and prophetic: The Republican Party is over.”

After that presidential loss, and then the government shutdown after that and the blame Republicans got for that and the terrible approval ratings, Republicans won a majority in the Senate and had many wins at the state level in the midterms.
