Now let me see if I can bring this to a point.
- Islam is a religion of Peace whose sacred text may include verses advocating violence but they do not mean what they seem to mean.
Do you know what these verses really mean…? why are they there…? what was their purpose…? what are they dealing with…? why don’t you find it out for yourself, you can easily pick any standard (acceptable) translation of the meaning of the Quran and do a quick study for few days and I’m sure you will come to your own conclusions.
- People who use these verses to advocate violence are not really Muslims and are perverting the faith
I would easily Yes…and in addition, even if they were Muslims they are surely have ulterior motives other then serving Islam.
- By and large, those willing to perform terrorist acts are poor and uneducated and are generally influenced by wealthy or educated leaders using them for their own gains.
Correction, not necessary educated and wealthy leaders but men who have a hidden agenda whatever their level of education and wealth is, and surely men who can use the Quran and Hathid to their won interpretations for their own ends.
- The majority of Muslims want to live in peace with other faiths and peoples and do not feel that the faith should be spread by the sword.
Well, who is spreading Islam by the sword, do you think, Usama Ben Laden is spreading Islam or Al Qaeda is doing that…?
- Freedom of worship is encouraged in Islam.
And that is why you have millions and millions of Arab Christians and None Arab Christians who live and prosper places were Islam was a dominant or still is… Just consider number of Christian Turks today…!
Now, if I may further these points
- I cannot argue with this point. It is easy in any faith to pull verses out of context and force a new meaning upon them.
- This may be correct if point one is correct.
- This seems to be the case.
- This one is problematic. If it is correct, why are there not more Muslims trying to stamp out the terrorists? Why are so many Saudis, especially the royal family, willing to financially support these groups.
Let me ask you this personal question, how much do you know what Muslims in their countries are doing to combat terrorism and fundamental Islam…?
How many Saudi royals do you know and can honestly reaffirm who paid or willing to finance terrorist groups…? can you name one and please use unbiased source to proof it.
- Again, there is too much evidence against this. Muslim governements tend not to allow freedom of worship. This may be a perversion of the faith, but it is wide-spread and visible.
What is your proof to this claim that Muslim Government do not allow none Muslims to workshop and practise their religions…?
There is no exception to this rule, even Saudi Arabia that many muslims consider very fundamentalist allows Christians to have a place of worship in their homes though not to build churches, however, in any other Muslim country one can easily see old or new churches side by side new and old mosques, and I mean any from Marrocco to Indonesia, just visit any of these countries.
Please let me know if this is a summary of this thread
I think, the thread was misunderstanding of the word Islam and Salaam, someone tried in the beginning to equate the two but they are not one of the same thing…
