Reminds me of the regulations preventing airline pilots from carrying guns.
I “guess” the FAA is afraid that a pilot might force himself to hijack his own plane.
We’re coming up on the anniversary of 9/11 … a reminder that if the pilots of those airliners had been armed, those hijackings would not have happened.
As soon as the word gets out that teachers will be carrying firearms, those school shootings will stop.
Keep in mind that before the restrictions on guns, shootings in schools were unheard of.
It’s the “gun free” schools that have shootings, because the shooters know that the kids can neither defend themselves nor be defended.

Then such children would have far greater issues to deal with and might need special education anyway. If by high school they have the wits scared out of them by an armed authority figure, something is definitely amiss. Better never let them around any police.That is not my line of reasoning. Find a way to keep the guns out of schools. Don’t arm the teachers and scare the wits out of the children. I would homeschool any children for that reason alone.

If enough parents keep their children at home for homeschooling as a result then the teachers won’t have jobs anyway. Guns are not needed because as I said it only takes one whacko teacher to use it the wrong way and then we will learn our lesson the hard way.You do not need to see a reason. No, guns do not belong in school until one is smuggled in by someone intent on doing harm. Then, so that the one who lives by the gun can die by the gun instead of the innocents, someone needs to have one.

Noone needs to smuggle a gun in here. If they catch an opportune time they grab the gun when it is set down and cause damage that way. Why not find more measures to make sure no guns are smuggled in. Then the teachers won’t need to carry them either.

That is plain silly. The only method that we have not put into place is making everybody come to class naked. Then we wouldn’t get ANY work done. Look goofyjim, no teacher who chooses to carry is going to let that weapon out of his control and chances are that no one will even know that he IS carrying. I carry a gun all the time and NOBODY, except my wife, ever knows.

This is not a good idea. People that started this are probably living back in the 50’s when there was more respect and people knew why.
This will becaome a good idea gone bad when a teacher:
A. Forgets his gun is in the drawer
B. Has it taken from him by a 220 lb. football team member when he is not ready.
There are confrontations in every school every day with teachers in all schools. You want the verbal ones or the ones that escalate into a shooting death.
What if a teacher just gets scared and thinks a student MAY do him harm and puts a bullet in his head and then crys and says oops??

The permit to carry a weapon differs in most states. In Pennsylvania you are orsered to carry a weapon concealed so as not to alarm citizens. In Texas, it’s the complete opposite, the weapon must be worn outside in plain view of the public.
Famous last words to anyone who thinks that everyone who has a license to carry a weapon knows what they are doing. You can obtain a firearms permit without knowing how to handle a weapon. You don’t even need to qualify at the line for one. You don’t even need to own a weapon. Now that is nuts.
