The Ten Commandments
(Exodus 12: 1-17
& Deuteronomy 5: 6-21)
Confirmation in the Quran
(Chapter: Verse)
- Thou shall not take any
God except one God.
- There is no God except
one God (47:19)
[19] Know, therefore, that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for the fault, and for the men and women who believe: for Allah knows how ye move about and how ye dwell in your homes.
- Thou shall make no
image of God.
- There is nothing whatsoever
like unto Him (42:11)
[11] (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things).
- Thou shall not use
God’s name in vain.
- Make not God’s name an
excuse to your oaths (2:224)
[224] And make not Allah’s (name) an excuse in your oaths against doing good, or acting rightly, or making peace between persons; for Allah is One Who heareth and knoweth all things.
- Thou shall honor thy
mother and father.
- Be kind to your parents if one
or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not a word of contempt nor repel them but address them in terms of honor. (17:23)
Even when they kill you because they think you might dishonour them. (this one’s only missing a small bit at the start)
- Thou shall not steal.
- As for the thief, male or female, cut off
his or her hands, but those who repent After a crime and reform shall be forgiven by God for God is forgiving and kind. (5:38 - 39)
*[38] As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in Power. Full of Wisdom.
[39] But if the thief repent after his crime, and amend his conduct, Allah turneth to him in forgiveness; for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.*
- Thou shall not lie or give
false testimony.
- They invoke a curse of God if they lie. (24:7)
Hide not the testimony (2:283)
*[7] And the fifth (oath) (should be) that they solemnly invoke the curse of Allah on themselves if they tell a lie.
[283] If ye are on a journey, and cannot find a scribe, a pledge with possession (may serve the purpose). And if one of you deposits a thing on trust with another, let the trustee (faithfully) discharge his trust, and let him fear his Lord. Conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it, his heart is tainted with sin. And Allah knoweth all that ye do.*
- Thou shall not kill.
- If anyone has killed one person it is as if he had killed the whole mankind (5:32)
Muslims love quoting this one. Pity it’s for the Israelites
*[32] On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our Messengers with Clear Signs, Yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land. *
- Thou shall not commit adultery.
- Do not come near adultery. It is an indecent deed and a way for other evils. (17:32)
This one’s close enough. However, this only applies to females - males on the other hand have their own personal brothel on hand in the islamic “nikaah”
- Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife or possessions.
9, Do good to your parents, relatives and neighbors. (4:36)
*[36] Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him; and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near neighbours who are strangers, the companion by your side, the way-farer (ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious. *
Saying of the Prophet
Muhammad (P) “One of the greatest sins is to have illicit sex with your neighbors wife”.
Mohammet is nothing but a hypocrit. Oh, source please
- Thou shall keep the Sabbath holy.
- When the call for the Friday Prayer is made, hasten to the remembrance of
God and leave off your business. (62:9)
[9] O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): that is best for you if ye but knew!
