Currently I’m revisiting Takahashi’s Maison Ikkoku. You want to strangle some of the characters, but for its music and glimpse into daily life in Japan, the series can’t be beat.

Which ones have you seen?

There are parts of the whole “culture” that I don’t really care for either, but then again I am only a very casual anime fan and don’t consider myself at all to be anything close to a full-blown otaku.

Also, I think we can all agree that cosplay is completely ridiculous. 👍
It’s true, the Japanese are a strange, strange people. Only the Wapanese are known to be stranger.

Ohohoho.

Sticking to the Shounen 3 at the moment - Naruto, OP, Bleach.

I’d reccomend TTGL (Absolutly amazing, it is a must watch for anybody who likes robots. Remotly.

Hate to burst your bubble but I don’t. I used to a little but not anymore. Both my younger brother and my little sister cosplay and let me tell you, it’s a fine art in of itself. 👍

Also like all arts, you will find those who do it horribly but there are also those who do it very beautifully. Safe to say, my younger siblings strive very hard to be the latter and I can very much say they and their fellow cosplayers have done a good job.

Besides, when you think about it, creating costumes is a wholly underrated craft. I doubt great movies like Lord of the Rings would have looked as impressive without their costume department.

What is TTGL?

What is TTGL?
TTGL = Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

It’s in the same vein as the hot-blooded, super robot anime of lore. If you’re familiar with G Gundam and Gao Gai Gar or the classics, Mazinger Z, Voltes V, Combattler V, Daimos etc etc… then you’ll definitely love TTGL!. 👍

Can’t wait to see TTGL in the next Super Robot Wars incarnation!!

Can’t go wrong the classics, I enjoyed Maison Ikkoku as much as I enjoyed Kimagure Orange Road!

Except 10 times more epic 🙂

Plus, TTGL has the title of biggest mecha in Anime to date.

Then there’s Super TTGL from the Lagann-hen, which has TTGL sitting behind it’s glasses. And it looks like a giant Kamina.

GaoGaiGar!

BOKURA NO YUUSHA OU! 😃

I went so crazy over that series I bought it.

Oh yeah, everyone’s talking about that one. 😃 It’s already on my long list of anime I wanna watch (as soon as I finish reading through my list of manga to read :o).

So I was bored, and after searching through the Funimation website for a possible new series to watch, I found out that you can search by genre. Even better, they have a “horror” genre among the options. “Awesome,” I thought, “I like horror: zombies and vampires and ghouls and stuff.” I was dreaming of a cyberpunk-Western-Post-apocalyptic-zombie survival horror when I clicked on the first series to pop up, something called ***RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~

***I clicked on a random episode and now I feel the need to clean my eyeballs and cerebellum with a toothbrush and disinfectant. So, long story short, the moral of the story is *find a review of a new series before watching it.

***In case you’re wondering why I’m currently mixing a bleach-water 1:10 solution to pour directly on my retinas, here’s a review of the series in question:

Because there is NOTHING on television right now, we started watching Inu Yasha again. The first episode is so enthralling and the characters and setting so engaging that you don’t even begin to wonder about the logical inconsistencies until somewhere well into the middle of the series.

I’ve seen american cartoons getting inspiration from anime, but what if its the other way around? Cartoon inspired anime!

like this Jenny doujin i found

ruby gloom and others

All anime is inspired by American cartoons. The creator of modern anime/manga wanted to imitate Walt Disney. He’s the one who even started that whole “big eye” thing. The name escapes me atm…

I get what you mean though! There was even going to be a Batman anime, but I don’t know why it was never produced.

The good news is that all of the Gotei 13 and the Vizards have had their kumbaiya moment and everything is moving along nicely in the manga.

I think that’s vague enough to not require a spoiler tag.

Ah Osamu Tezuka, the Father of Anime and Manga, creator of classics such as Astro Boy and Kimba the White Lion. 😃

It’s both amazing at the same time bizarre at how his style evolved into such a crazy yet wonderful world. 8D

You should see this new Iron Man “cartoon” trailer I saw. Definitely an anime.

They look pretty good. 🙂 You do well with they eyes. They express a lot of emotion, as they should, since the eyes are the focal point in anime.
Hey thanks. I’m still practicing but I think it did come put good. I think you can tell he looks more american by looking at him. Also, the Bible did say “whatever you do, do it for the glory of God” so why not put my talents to some use? We need more christian based anime.

Keep practicing!. If you’re really dedicated, you may even graduate to being able to quickly reproduce them enough to make a professional looking manga type story out of them.

Good! No, I thought it was innovative to use them for that purpose. 🙂
