Nice color, EW, what is your medium?

I have been going through my art ‘stuff’ to see whether I still want certain things and did this fast and loose neocolor sketch of Sinterklaas. The white is chalk which I like using on toned paper. The image seems to read very dark, as it was on gray pastel paper.

Nciely done picture of santa. When did you make that one?

What do you mean by “medium”?

Yesterday! Thanks.

Medium=what you used to draw the picture.
I drew it mine on paper and I scanned on black and white setting. Therefore that gave me lineart which I later colored using a free program called Artweaver. It’s hard using a mechanical pencil because once you draw the dark lines for the lineart because if you screw up you will have a hard time erasing it. Maybe using Artweaver would better fix that though.

I also used one of those green block pencil erasers that are seperate from the penicl. I use card stock for my drawings because normal paper bends too easily.

I see; thanks. I have no computer-drawing skills whatever!

Same here. It’s more fun and easier to draw manga traditionally anyway. Try the card stock, not bad stuff. Oh, and use a 0.7mm mechanical pencil. You do have a scanner right?

Yes, that’s how I posted those two drawings.

I do have mechanical pencils, but I have to check what size they are. Thanks.

I also posted to my LiveJournal a brief sentence or two about the manga and anime character designs that I like, and Toriyama Akira (Dragonball, DBZ) was first on the list. I love his clean, simple designs, wild imagination, and the color palette of the anime. His character designs seem to be influenced by everything from Journey to the West to Peanuts, old-time comedians, and classic monster movies.

I just found out how Bulma and Vegeta got together. She totally wrangles him, then puts him in a pink shirt and then:

Vegeta: What a vulgar woman. But she has guts!

In other words, love at first sight. 😛

Why did they call Mark “Mr. Satan”? Why not “Hercule” like in the American version?

On a sad note the japanese actor who played as Mark commited suicide back in Janurary, at least that’s what I read on the DBZ wiki.

Whoever creates the manga/anime gets to name characters. I only saw one movie with that character in it, and he was shown to be a poser, so maybe it really is an appropriate name.

I may regret asking this. What is yaoi?
Same-sex attraction glorified. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

On another note, has anyone been watching DBZ Kai?

The English cast isn’t to my liking, particularly, but they cut out a lot of the annoying filler.

Most characters’ names in DBZ are puns, but I don’t remember why Mr. Satan is “satan.”

OK, now it’s my turn… yiff???
Don’t even know if I should have mentioned it. It’s basically anthropomorphic animals having sex. It’s pornography to those into bestiality. Those people ended up corrupting a thing called “Furry fandom” which is what people who are fans of anthros are a part of.

I’ll leave it at that.

Q: Yaoi te nani?
A: HUAAAACKH!! D8>
I’m not even gonna bother to click the link. I don’t even want to know what’s on there. Why is there a thing called “ecchi angels” on your profile anyway?
Are you sure? I know a ton of fan girls and judging from the many pro-yaoi stamps there, it seems more of the reverse. :ehh:
I could be wrong, but I have looked at anthro art before on DA. As I searched I saw a lot of bad stuff there on the anthro section. Even though there may not be as many stamps for this garbage I still say yiff is more popular than yaoi (sad than either one is popular at all).
