Where’s the DVD from? Is it sold in stores? I see some episodes on Youtube. I haven’t seen if there’s 30.

I believe there’s a boxed set from Bandai. It’s got 7 discs. It might still be available. I’d check either animenation or Right Stuf. They’re both good online anime shopping sites.

It may or may not be “stealing” depending on who you talk to here, and there have been endless debates over the subject here already. :o Since I don’t want to start another foolish argument over something so trivial I’ll just post the official name of the series and let you do whatever you will. It’s called “Inuyasha: The Final Act”.
I was a big Inuyasha fan a few years back, own nearly all the movies, and a few box sets as well. I hadn’t the slightest clue that they had made anything besides the original anime and the manga. I enjoyed the anime, despite a few minor irritations (particularly the love triangle between Kikyou, Kagome, and Inuyasha AND how the anime ended.) There also wasn’t enough scenes with Sesshomaru in my opinion, but that’s another story. 🤷

I’ll look into this “Inuyasha: The Final Act” though. 🙂

My only irritation with the series is regarding how they screw up every chance to destroy Naraku’s heart. The love triangle is understandable. Kagome is supposed to be Kikyo’s reincarnation and that has to be confusing for Inuyasha. Kikyo doesn’t seem to compete with Kagome and vice versa. Maybe it’s a more of a love “V.”

Yes, I can imagine that would be confusing for him. But during some points throughout the series, Inuyasha simply showed a disregard to Kagome’s feelings altogether. Maybe he’s just a tad but insensitive? 😛

I agree about the screwing up every chance to destroy Naraku’s heart though, those scenes could be quite irritating.

Also, I wonder what those sutra sheets are made of, because I don’t see how Miroku could throw pliable pieces of paper at anything and have them go anywhere, much less land on the enemies. Could blessed prayer cards work on the possessed? I see shows like Inuyasha and wonder why some choose pagan faiths with all their spooks and fear of retaliation by demons or angry gods after having heard about Christ and what he taught.

Because as far as aesthetics and entertainment value go, Christianity would suffer a zero score unless it too emphasizes on things such as angels, demons, silver bullets, holy swords etc.

It’s the same with ancient mythologies.

Furthermore, ancient mythologies are pretty much ‘dead religions’ and aren’t always accurately depicted when you incorporate them into fantasy. It’s a similar case with Christianity were stuff like Hellsing, Trinity Blood, and D.Gray-man aren’t exactly an accurate portrayal of the real-life Church.

Pliable was a wrong choice of a word. I meant something that’s floppy without an external force acting upon it. Playing cards can be thrown at something it can penetrate and stick.
It has been said by a Catholic mystic that if we could see demons, they'd blot out the sun. I think it's possible that badly said Masses and the rise of the occult could make more demons visible to more of us in the future. It could become like in the movie with K. Reeves: "Constantine," which, despite its major faults, illustrated this (and the dream of Pope Leo 13, though with the God as a spoiled child-king blasphemy).

I’m afraid what you desire is simply another Christian-biased fantasy (not to mention the cost for it to come true doesn’t sound so hot).

Personally I’d rather fantasize a world where Christianity is just one of the many supernatural world powers out there. I mean, Paladins and Clerics are cool and all but it’d be quite bland to only see them walking around. I’d also want to see ninjas, kung-fu monks, Arabian assassins, and even shamans from my own country. Don’t take this as me promoting paganism or anything but a world that’s only exclusive to Christianity wouldn’t be any more diverse than a world exclusive to Islam (or worse, atheism).

We should want not a diversity of religions. We should want one faith…The Faith, so no more are in darkness. We certainly don’t want the world of spooks of Inuyasha’s world we can’t see conjured by the sorcerers of pre-Christian times.

I wonder why, though despising humans at first, Sesshomaru walks around looking almost human-like, except for pointy ears and colored marks on his face, and using human-style weapons. Why didn’t he just walk around like a monster dog? Maybe he hated himself for being a self-hater and secretly envied Inuyasha.

I am not advocating a diversity of religions as much as I am advocating a diversity of cultural aesthetics. Again, a world full of only knights, paladins, clerics, and friars can get old pretty fast. A clash of culture is just the thing to spice it up.

There’s more to being human than the physical appearance of one you know. 😉

Yeah, but Sesshomaru looked a lot like a human, though he hated humans.

We have enough Japanese folklore anime and why shouldn’t they, being they started it. Western-style religious aesthetics (no psycho priests or evil archangels other than Lucifer), not modernized, would be refreshing. Someday, we may see demons too. Hellboy came close to what I was thinking of, being he used a relic and other Catholic tools against evil, though they put in some occult. Kenshin showed Christians on crosses, despite having a Catholic cult leader inspiring evildoing, arc. Still, one day, the demons may be revealed to our eyes. Any case, in our own lives, we should listen to the Bible when Moses taught the youth crossing the Jordan not to intermarry with the unbelievers practicing error. Sadly, we don’t mind that today and don’t teach our youth all their faith and faith’s heritage–just the world’s faith or the faith in a worldly way, like Christian rock.

In the unedited version of YGO, Yugi has a nightmare about a burning church and his friends being crucified. Hmm, wonder why they cut THAT out.

If they destroy a church, that’ll be in. Wasn’t that in that Appleseed movie?
