May I use that quote? That is a great quote.
Feel free my friend.

HA! Sounds like your grandpa might’ve been a Texan. LOL

Ok… I’m sorry. This is just one belief I will never believe. Just put the bread under a microscope, and you will see it is normal bread, not Jesus’ flesh.

I just think that the Bible is FULL of symbols and metaphors. This was merely an honoring of Jesus, something we do to commemorate him. Did he even say that it the bread and are literally him?
Kyle, take yourself back in time (32 A.D.), take Christ’s hand and put it “under a microscope” and let me know if you “see” the Son of Man/Second Figure of God?

The fact that you “will never believe” in the Eucharist puts you in company with the very first protestants in John 6:66. “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” Yup these are the protestants who walked away after Christ says you must eat his flesh and drink his blood FOUR TIMES.

A-hah! kyle’s true colors are showing, in #1 in this thread!

I’ll deal with these, one at a time, later.

Amazingly, look at the verse number on those walked away. Could they be the beast!!!

Kyle;

You wrote…

Hmm? All “colors” including black, white, brown, etc. After all, the Catholic Church is the universal church of Christ. Hope this helps. 😃

Church Militant:
Really Kyle? Ever hear of the miracle of Lanciano? Read about it here.
therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/lanciano.html
Scientifically impossible, yet there to this day and scientifically verified. Oh ye of little faith…
CM,
Please find another source for the Miracle at Lanciano! This site is by a heretic priest in Mobile,AL. He has called our beloved JPII a murderer and the Archbishop a pediphile! I have spoken to the Archbishop about him personally. He has been sanctioned and no longer has his faculties! This is not the site to send someone struggling with faith in his Catholic Church! This priest is so overboard it’s not funny!

Everyone - please do not send anyone - Cathloic or not - to this site!
Sorry, I just thought you’d like the heads up!

There are so many non-catholics on this forum who conduct civil, respectful debates and then along come some jerks and immediately go into an all out attack. It’s a shame people like that think they are doing some good when in effect are going against what Jesus would do. And to start of with deceit claiming they are Catholic. I say, “come on, do you think people in this forum are complete fools?” Kyle said he has read and researched, but apparently didn’t do any reading and researching in this form

I’m sorry you guys but I don’t believe anything on Kyle’s profile. I question first of all him being Catholic.

Even a misinformed Catholic would not all of a sudden come up with all of this nonsense. I don’t believe he is even 16 years old. I think today’s teens have more sense than this. I would question what sort of video games he is into, what kind of friends he has and maybe all that loud Led Zeppelin music has dulled his common sense. And the much more? That would be what type of wild crayolas he has been smoking. A teen would start by asking question instead of making unfounded accusations. These type of accusations seems like they are from somebody who has been brainwashed by years of reading Jack Chick and Dave Hunt.

Dear Lord, Please forgive kyle8921 for he knows not what he is doing.

Hi Kyle,

You speak with such authority. You speak as though you are absolutely, 100% right. Are you infallible?

Hi Kyle,

I just read your profile. You must be getting a kick out of posting and then reading the reactions.

At 16, you cannot know much about the world. It’s time to listen.

At 51, I have come to know that I don’t know much. But God knows everything. And He founded the Catholic Church. That much, I know.

If you’re really interested, and you didn’t do this just for the kicks, read the Old Testament. Read about the nation of Israel, the People of God at that time. Read how God still used them even though they had, on and off, corrupt leaders, and the people themselves sinned. Doesn’t make it right. But we’re all sinful human beings.

What Israel was in the Old Testament times, the Catholic Church is in these times…the People of God…with leaders who are sinful human beings, yes. But the Holy Spirit keeps them from teaching error so that we can know what is the Truth.

Grace and peace to you as you search,
Gene

I’ve been reading, searching for the “true” religion of the world, and while it may be Christianity, it most definitely is not Catholicism.

Granted, Kyle, your still a child–at least, if your profile is accurate. But there is not any reason to respond to such rantings. My guess is that you may need some Prozac before you need to be set straight on these issues. Any discerning person can see that what you wrote is a joke–a regurgitation of all sorts of anti-Catholic rhetoric from the internet, no doubt.

But let me say something first… I know that no matter what I say, you will have something to defend your religion, but please, just consider it, and think, what would Jesus do?

I believe that the Catholic Church has made SO many wrong choices. It has made SO many people believe false truths. We have done so much, and yet, because we don’t want to admit we are wrong, are ignorant and blind to the Truth. Here is what I have managed to collect and understand recently.

Well, there is just too much for me to write. I mean, come on!

How can you defend the Inquisition? Would Christ have allowed such a thing?

Moses was an Inquisitor of sorts - yet he appeared at the Transfiguration.

Popes claim to be Christ on Earth, the vicars of God. Popes in the past, in the "Dark Ages (when the Church was at the height of its power… such an interesting title for what should be Christ’s most influential times on Earth) have claimed that the whole world and all of existence is theirs, and anyone who denies it or doesn’t pay the Church taxes can be excommunicated and thrown into torture chambers.

To even TRY to defend Catholics’ WORSHIP of Mary and Saints is a complete joke. Venerate means the same thing as worship, and in your hear

It does not - I venerate my country: I do not mistake it for my Creator and God.

People in the USA seem to have an all but religious love of their country - but he would be a fool, who supposed they mistook it for God.

As for Mary - it is entirely right to love her: Christians are to love their neighbours, she is our neighbour, therefore we love her. She is not God, and could not be - which is why we do not sacrifice to her: sacrifice is for God alone. ##
Reading about the Church and the tortures it allowed throughout… well, most of it’s history, are more painful than the people who actually underwent such gruesome tragedies. Boiled alive in hot oil? Burned alive at the stake? Having your flesh peeled off?

The Church had people burned alive - it did not boil them or flay them.

Electrocution strikes me as a pretty revolting form of death - at least China only shoots people. ##
And the people allowing such atrocities are supposed to be the mediators of Christ?

I don’t think the CC ever had anyone lobotomised - the USA did. People do foul things - but so do those, centuries later, who criticise them. No Pope ever allowed partial-birth abortion, or abortion. The Church forbids the bombing of civilians in war - the USA doesn’t. The USA has one of the largest stockpiles of chemical weapons in the world - very Christian.

And people who allow such atrocities are supposed to be mediators of Christ ?

You criticise the CC - others criticise the USA. Each age has its pet hypocrisies, and its crimes that it cannot see as crimes. And its ways of behaving which are criticised without understanding or justification.

People are cruel - sometimes they can perform great cruelties in a cause they consider important. It is regrettable, but unsurprising, that Catholics should be cruel in a good cause: such as that of protecting the Faith from being distorted. ##
Popes have claimed power and dominion over everything, even Alexander VI said that he owned all unexplored lands.

It is by no mean clear that his principles in this matter were ill-founded: I take it you are referring to his action in arbitrating beween Spain & Portugal.

The Papacy has hardly been unique in making very ambitious political claims: and at least the Popes don’t corrupt other cultures by inflicting Mickey Mouse, Ronald McDonald, and the filth of Hollywood upon them. ##

Jesus taught that we shouldn’t build up gold and jewels on the Earth, because our treasure is in Heaven. Have you seen how much gold and jewels the Catholic Church has?!

“in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication” (Revelation 17:4)

Just like some TV evangelists 🙂

What are the colors of priests of the Catholic Church? I know my “Father” wears those colors a lot, not to mention the gold and jewels. And we shouldn’t call our leaders “father” either. Sure, Peter may have said that he has become a “father” to the people, but that doesn’t mean we should call them “fathers,” especially when GOD told us not to!

Look what the Catholic Encyclopedia has to say about chalices…

“[It is] the most important of the sacred vessels… [It] may be of gold or silver, and if the latter, then the inside must be surfaced with gold.”

What the?! Did Revelations not just a describe a golden cup, covererd with abominations? How can we be so ignorant!?

“The pectoral cross [suspended by a chain around the neck and worn over the breast by abbots, bishops, archbishops, cardinals, and the pope] should be made of gold and … decorated with gems …”

Come on… that’s just not right, and you know it. What did Jesus say about building up treasures again?

Maybe that is why a lot of this outward splendour was abolished after Vatican II. The Catholic Encyclopedia is in certain respects very outdated - those descriptions are outdated.

Those who live in glass houses, should be careful where they throw their stones.

Jewellery and plate and cups are not used by the CC alone - that’s like thinking only the USA has a medical service.

Not everything unfamilar or exotic in USA eyes is Catholic. ##
Most of the RCC’s wealth was attained through confiscation of heretics, after they were finished torturing and killing them because they wouldn’t admit that the Pope was the ulimate power of the world.

Actually, a lot of it was from bequests and other gifts

And about indulgences… I hear we still sell them today in parts of the world. This is one of the worst things I think the Church has ever done. Give us money and we’ll get you out of Purgatory? What’s wrong with you people!

The Church needs celibacy, yet Peter and MANY POPES were married, some even with multiple wives!? What a hypocritical bunch of people…

I thought I had a fairly good idea of papal unpleasantnesses - but I hadn’t heard that. Can you name one of these “many” ?

Revelations says the woman will be drunk with blood of martys. Think of all the people the RCC tortured and killed during the Inquistion, because they were practicing Christianity the RIGHT way.

It could also be a description of Jerusalem

Revelations says the “whore” and “the city” has had reigning power over the kings of the Earth. Who has had more power than anyone to ever exist in the history of existance!? THE POPES!

Or possibly the USA. Popes don’t make war - not now: but the USA does. Popes have never used napalm, Agent Orange, tortured POWS - the USA has.

Rome is a city built on seven hills, much like Revelations describes. Let’s face it. Catholicism is wrong.[/quite]

Jerusalem is built on hills too. So are a lot of cities.

I could go on and on, but this is enough for now. You all said that God and Christ would lead me back to Catholicism.

I wouldn’t presume to say this at all - because we all have free will.

Honestly, I can’t follow Catholicism and love Christ with my heart. You know why I liked Catholicism? I liked the decorated Cathedrals, I liked the jewels on my Rosary, I liked the words, the clothes, the pomp, the rituals, the artwork, the gold, the history, the order, the everything, except one thing: Jesus Christ.

Without him, Christianty does not exist.

Entire agreement there

For these reasons, and many more, I no longer can believe what the Catholic Church teaches or believes. If you read all that… thanks.

If it’s not out of place to say this - rejecting Catholicism will not guarantee faith in Christ. Worshipping in a meeting- hall is not of itself more godly than worshipping in a cathedral: it is the worshipper’s grace-caused attitude to Christ that makes the difference: and that can be had as readily in the CC as out of it.

If you’re going to reject Catholicism, don’t do it for such weak-sounding reasons. ##
