**There’s hardly anything worse than humourless people. People who lack humour, are boring and at least I wouldn’t mix up with them.

i can think of something worse than a humorless person: Someone who can’t tolerate those who have no sense of humor…
(or who SEEM not to have one).
It is difficult having a sense of humor (all the time) when the world is in the shape its in. The devil rules this world. Sin prevails. Sin is the norm. People hate each, use each other (fornication, e tc.) and murder one another (abortion). What is there to laugh about??
The Bible belongs to whoever reads, follows, and obeys its teachings. The Bible is a “Catholic Book”, therefore, everything in the Bible, in one way or another supports Catholicism.
Ignorance of Catholicism is ignorance of the Bible.
Your thoughts?

Those who follow the truth of the Bible are taught to interpret it from the Holy Spirit. In so doing, those with true belief are filled with God’s spirit, and begin to act more like Jesus Christ.**Hi Symux, :tiphat: **
**Hey, thanks for that information!****I am so glad that someone has finally been appointed to make those decisions! Errrr, You were appointed by the Catholic Church, the real owners of the Bible, to make that statement weren’t you? Or, is it just your opinion?

Big correction! The correct books of the Bible were selected 1100 years earlier, at the Councils of Carthage (397 AD), Nicea, and Rome. There were just too many unreal epistles, Gospels around, like the Gospel of Judas, which was declared phony by St Ireneus (sic) about AD 120.Those who follow the truth of the Bible are taught to interpret it from the Holy Spirit. In so doing, those with true belief are filled with God’s spirit, and begin to act more like Jesus Christ.
It should be the goal of all Christians to become more like our Savior. If anyone could ever attain that ideal, we would never have needed his sacrifice.
It is our job to continually work towards this goal, and to help our brethren when they need encouragement.
The official books of the Bible were selected to be placed into the Bible at the Council of Trent. The Roman Catholic Church did put the modern day Bible. I will not deny that, but it is the word of God meant to be shared with everyone. It is a fallacy for anyone to deny the word of God to anyone, or to declare it belongs only to one organization.
Those who follow the truth of the Bible are taught to interpret it from the Holy Spirit. In so doing, those with true belief are filled with God’s spirit, and begin to act more like Jesus Christ.
**You can’t know the TRUTH if you don’t follow the catholic church’s teaching. Yes, we are taught that the Holy Spirit guides our church. Satan leads his followers to final damnation! **
It should be the goal of all Christians to become more like our Savior. If anyone could ever attain that ideal, we would never have needed his sacrifice.
Yes, they should embrace His real church and stop following distorted, twisted, deceitful, greedy denominations. Because of original Sin we did need his sacrafice it proved the ability for the entire Human race to be saved. Onlt failure to accept His sacrafice by not loving Him, His Mother, and His church can cause a good decent person to be danmed to the fires of Hell.
It is our job to continually work towards this goal, and to help our brethren when they need encouragement.
**Yes, Exactly what I am attempting to do. Thanks for recognizing that!**
he official books of the Bible were selected to be placed into the Bible at the Council of Trent. The Roman Catholic Church did put the modern day Bible. I will not deny that, but it is the word of God meant to be shared with everyone.
**Yup, they were books written to be used in services by the Catholic church to share Jesus words and remain in touch with the jewish roots of His Faith. The were never meant to become a god! They are only words “UNLESS” unless interpreted “correctly” by the church that was given the power and authority to do that. I will give you an analogy to help explain. But remember an analogy isn’t the same thing as being the same thing.**
If I went and defended you in a court of law using a law book. I might or might not read the law correctly. Even if I did some or even most times the important thing would be "I would have no authority to do that! I am not an attorney or lawyer! I have never been to law school. What would give me the right to “teach or practice” law? The fact that i bought a book on it? How very, very foolish. That is like just like Protestants. You teach yourselves “our” bible and think your faulty interpretations are the truth? As I said foolish. Only God and the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Church can say what is true. Jesus made His One Holy and Apostolic Church not the 61,000 false denominations with 100 versions of the real bible and 1,375 (or more by now) false doctrines being taught to some very nice, sincere, and beautiful people, Who have just mistaken fellowship and ceremony for the real religion left by Jesus.
another analogy to help explain, if you don’t mind. But remember an analogy isn’t the same thing as being the same thing.
**You can drink grape juice and eat Oreo’s in your communion service for all it is worth.**
**Yes, of course, Jesus is there “spiritually”, “Where two or more…” But, you don’t have Jesus “Physically” Body and Soul and also “Spiritually” in your church. You don’t join Him at the cross at the second He dies for our sins, you don’t Eat and Drink with Him at the last supper. You don’t have “spiritual life” in Jesus. He said so! Not me! “If you do not eat my body and drink my blood you are spiritually dead. If you do you will obtain eternal life” If you have a Bible read it with Open eyes. Pray that Jesus can lift the veil of doubt and blindness that the devil has placed over your eyes. As Jesus said; “Come! Follow Me!” **
It is a fallacy for anyone to deny the word of God to anyone, or to declare it belongs only to one organization.
It is a fallaccy for people to think they can understand the word of God with out the translater of the word: His Holy Catholic Church. I would not think to deny the word of God to anyone, which of the 100 versions are you referring to? the KJV with the 300 “minor” changes that make it an invalid version? Come on my brother, Jesus wants you to be saved! I do also. I love you with all my heart. Come follow Jesus The Christ and His true church.
God Bless

- Exactly. The Bible was given by God for every single peeps, even Rob Gentner and even a New Age ‘priest’ friend.
- And every human being born has been a sinner. The Pope goes to confession (John 20:23) to a Priest, for forgiveness by Our Lord, the Only One who can Forgive.

I absolutely LOVE that motto! It is indeed something to strive for. You can be sure I’ll be adding that to my Christmas Cards, or would this be frowned upon by the Power Catholic organization?POWER CATHOLIC MOTTO:
Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders & says… 'Oh hell…he’s awake!!'
My family are all Roman Catholic, except myself who had a falling out when I learned things about the history of the church that I was too innocent to accept. Now I’m starting to question that bit, to be honest. I had misgivings, due to being too naive in the ways of men, and absolutely felt that the Church could never, and would never have done anything wrong or questionable … that it came straight from God. Then I learned of some not so nice things from its past and crashed hard. However, this site is helping me to resolve many of those issues.
I also wished to add that your post was well thought out, and appreciated by myself. Thank-you![]()
The Catholic Church has officially defined very few passages in Scripture, so even Catholics studying the Bible must rely greatly on personal interpretation, albeit within the framework of the Church teachings. However even then different Catholics interpret the official definitions of the Church in different ways. You must still interpret what the definition means, so what you really have is private interpretation once removed. For example, people may have different interpretation of whether something is a mortal sin.Is that why there are millions of interpretations of the Bible? And Thousands of Sects? Does everyone have different Holy Spirit, with different understandings? Why did God tell us that The Truth is in The Church, The Apostles? 1 Timothy 3:15
We have wonderful ideas and attitudes here, in this great worldwide Web. I drifted away from the Church for long time too, thinking I didn’t need it. I heard many of the same inventions, distortions about it also, and started to think they may be true. Till I started watching EWTN, got the nerve up to try a Mass, nervously. Then Really got up the Courage to Follow Fr Groeschell’s advice to not just watch the Mass. Just go to Lifetime Confession. Was so powerfully Guilt shredding.Just a quick note, as I couldn’t do a quote from your post. I wanted to say that I appreciate your response.:thankyou:

[SIGN]The Catholic Church has no Power organization. Clergy have great sense of humor, humility. Know every Bishop has a Doctorate? learned that a few months ago. [/SIGN]

Brillant post…The Catholic Church has officially defined very few passages in Scripture, so even Catholics studying the Bible must rely greatly on personal interpretation, albeit within the framework of the Church teachings. For practical purposes, in day to day study, Catholics must rely on someone’s private interpretation, including their own.
Only the Magisterium or the Pope can make an infallible interpretation. How does an ordinary Catholic access the Magisterium? A single bishop or priest does not speak infallibly.
The Pope has been defined has infallible under some circumstances, but only two declarations appear to be universally recognized as being infallible, the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption. Catholics cannot agree whether anything else has been infallibly defined. When they assert that it is or not, they are exercising their opinion of what was said.
As to there being thousands of sects, that is a gross exaggeration unless you view each non-demonational church as a separate sect. They believe a church consists of one congregation. This does not mean they differ much, if anything on other matters. Please remember that the source for the 33,000 denominations also says there are more than 200 Catholic denominations.
We have the History of the Verses available. :bible1: And we rarelly need to invent Our Readings of verses. Those are ideas of Men. We can not hold, teach views against Basic Catholic Teaching…Like Mary was just another woman, and had Sex, other children after Jesus. Our Church Fathers were there, especially St John. Correct History is Very basic part of The Church, aka Tradition is important.Brillant post…If there are supposedly thousands of different interpretations in Prostant churches there are easily millions of different interpretations in the Catholic church since there are millions of catholics. To think that a priest or a bishop cannot give the final and final interpretation of a verse of Scripture since the church offically never means a catholic must rely on the personal interpretation of the priest or bishop. Sounds a lot like protestantism to me…

The Church was the First Record Keeper in the West, and USA: Baptismal, Marriage records.
And the Church Nunbers 1.1 Billion Roman Catholic, about 200-300 Million Orthodox, We are about 70% of all Christians. And RC is Fastest growing one in USA, again. Only 3 Christian Churches Grew last year in USA, all the other denominagtions declined by Half Percent: Secularism, Globalization.

The Numbers of Sects are stated by Secular Sources. In a recent year, One US Govt agency states are 17,000 Christian Sect in the USA. Labor Dept, or some such. Other secular sources allege 33,000 sects in the World. Maybe Are 200 Catholic Sects. Many Cultures have Very Beautiful Traditions: Phillipine, Bolivian, Ruthenian, etc, etc. Remember the Eastern Churches of about 21-22 Are Catholic Sects, in Union with the Vatican, as not Roman. Otherwise great post.
