Additionally,to those here so desperately clingng to the mantra that Trump committed an unconstitutional act,no amount of factual truth dispelling their allegations will ever change their mind.
1 if their accusation are salient then it certainly applies to Joe Biden who on tape admitted of such an act
2 The constant drumbeat that they must impeach lest Trump get re elected
3 that this is just the last straw in numerous attempts to bring down a duly elected president.Collusion, obstruction, bribery, extortion, now reduced to mere mind reading Trumps intentions. That anyone is still buying this nonsense is the question that really needs and begs an answer!:woman_facepalming:t2:

Could you describe a circumstance where it would be appropriate, especially while asking the foreign leaders to publicly announce that they are doing such investigation before any crime has been discovered?
I don’t have any direct evidence that those exact events happened, so I’m not inclined to speculate.
What was the necessity of Giuliani? He is not part of the justice department , he’s not part of the state department . He’s got no security clearance. He hasn’t been vetted.
How do you know Rudy doesn’t have a security clearance? He was US attorney and mayor of New York, so he had to have some level of clearance. And, again, the President is not restricted to using “normal channels” to conduct foreign relations.
Why “work with Rudy?”
Why not Rudy? Trump knew him. As a New York developer, he probably had some significant interactions with him.

Thank you for your previous answers, for being able to respond.

Okay, let’s pretend that this could happen:

A sitting president asks a foreign leader to investigate a political rival, also asking the foreign leaders to publicly announce that they are doing such investigation before any crime has been discovered.

Does this rise to the level of “appropriate circumstances” in which it is acceptable for a president to ask a foreign leader for favors?

Or as Mulvany said, "get over it. "
The most direct primary source other than Trump is Mulvany who already said quid pro quo.
Can’t get more direct evidence that that

Yes and there was a treaty as well…
The US has a process for vetted the Ukraine’s anti-corruption progress. Through that process aide to Ukraine was green-lighted by the Pentagon in May 2019. Trump intervened anyway, but did not actually seek anti-corruption activity, according to Sondland, just the announcement of the investigation by Ukraine, that would damage his political opponent, and deflect attention from Russia, who undertook massive intervention in 2016 to help Trump.

Biden acted on behalf of the government of the United States and its allies to remov3e a corrupt prosecutor who was failing to work against corruption in the Ukraine. Nothing wrong with this act.

Trump acted outside of the established channels of the government of the United States to corruptly leverage aid to an ally in need to gain personal benefit.

The actual distinction between these two cases could not be more obvious.
The constant drumbeat that they must impeach lest Trump get re elected
I have not heard that, but the idea of waiting for the election is odd, when the crux of the matter is Trump’s efforts to seek foreign interference on our election.

When he said he can shoot someone on 5th Ave and they will still vote for him, I find it incredible that anyone doubts him at this point. The GOP defense of impeachment is 100% consistent.
Just impeach him because it is right.
Let McConnell conduct whatever predetermined result Trump ordered him to, and move on.

Might as well go with President Zelensky’'s word, there was no blackmail, no threat made.

Sure, we vet these countries, I would wager that no one has said this process is perfect and no abuse of aid has ever then gone on. Plus, we don’t know who vetted this, at least, I don’t.

Actually, this is something we still need to find out.

I’m sorry, we deserve a clean non-corrupt government.

“Regardless “as to whether or not irregardless is a word, the mere fact that anyone would feel the need to correct and call someone out on what they perceive as an error in need of correction,is totally classless.
I’d say consider the source!

As has been explained before, Zelensky was very nuanced in his exact words so as to be non-committal on these questions. He has every reason in the world not to contradict Trump (to continue receiving aid against Russia) and no reason to tell all he knows. He is not under oath.

So much of this relies on the abilities of Trump haters to read minds.

We have the president on TV saying that he wanted Ukraine (and China too because why not) to investigate the Bidens specifically, only changing his story after getting called out. We have Mulvaney saying so in a press conference, only changing his story after getting called out.

But I guess we really can’t tell if Biden was really on the administration’s mind.

President Trump may well have not treated Ukraine well. That is wrong and unaccepable but it probably is not illegal.
