lol I’ll stop when I want too, not when asked too, sir.

You know how long it takes to milk a cow? quite a while, especially if she is fed what I feed mine (my cows are so fat, they are huffing and puffing heavy breathes, even for cows, when they walk up my hill for feed time)

Its funny when those that aren’t persecuted cry persecution

It’s M’aam to you šŸ˜›
You know how long it takes to milk a cow?
Yes. When I was first fostered out from the orphanage, I lived on a farm. Wonderful family, and wonderful memories of milking by hand, and the ferral cats that would come around at milking time for their treat. Wonderful, wonderful memories, until the abuse started. But that’s another story.

Its funny when those that Persecute deny that persecution exists too.

I think you should start a stand-up.
Christian, you’re what 16 years of age… You have a strong devotion to your faith compared to many your age but you want to fight everyone, even if they are not trying to fight with you. you have to be as open to hearing our side as you want us to be hearing you so would you want to give it another shot or what?

Why is everybody an expert?

And, do they have the right to criticize?

I run into non-Catholics Protestants all the time, who criticize Catholicism and have all sorts of opinions on Christian beliefs and why the Catholic Church is wrong about this or that… and yet, these same people, seldom, if ever… attend any church and do not themselves, behave like Christians.

Additionally, many of those who complain about, what is ā€œwrongā€ with Catholicism, know little or nothing about Catholic beliefs.

Now, what’s up with that?
I am sure the main reason protestants criticize Catholicism is because they are taught from the bible. And the bible does not say ā€œPray the rosaryā€ or ā€œAsk Mary to pray for us now and at the hour of our deathā€.
This has all been hashed out a millions times in other threads. You know the story and the drill.
And I can predict your response. Because I read it under another topic title.
And protestants are not the only ones criticizing another man’s religion. I have read enough threads here to know that Catholics don’t like protestants. And in listening to Catholic Answers Live I have learned that many Catholic priests and believers also criticize and make fun of protestants.
So until Christians realize that the real problem is bringing lost souls to know Jesus Christ as their savior. Instead of proving that their religion is the only religion. We will make Jesus sad watching us so called ā€œChristiansā€ make a mockery of Christianity to the lost.

Then you obviously know nothing of my church. I love how you guys judge my church, I am sure you’ve been there dozens of times.

** I know enough about religion to write several books! I have read 100s of them. Your church, not you personally, ā€œmustā€ be judged. By its very nature, It teaches falsehoods. How do I know? Because only the Catholic church has the authority to correctly interpret God’s words. As I stated before we didn’t change, adjust, rewrite, edit, or modify God’s word to suit our own needs! **

What is SDA again?

**

**The Seventh-Day Adventist = SDA! Oh, what a ā€œfunā€ group they are! They hold many false and strange doctrines. Among which are the following: (a) the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon; (b) the pope is the Antichrist; (c) in the last days, Sunday worship will be ā€œthe mark of the beastā€; (d) there is a future millennium in which the devil will roam the earth while Christians are with Christ in heaven; (e) the soul sleeps between death and resurrection; and (f) on the last day, after a limited period of punishment in hell, the wicked will be annihilated and cease to exist rather than be eternally damned. Many Adventists insist that, as a matter of discipline (not doctrine), one must not eat meats considered unclean under the Mosaic Law. Because Prophet Ellen G White was a vegetarian, many SDAs endorse total vegetarianism, but deny they follow the teachings of their founder Ellen White. They also believe that one must avoid ā€œworldly entertainmentsā€. By that they mean, card-playing, dancing, smoking, drinking, reading non-religious books, listening to non-religious music, watching non-religious television, going to the movies etc.šŸæ SDAs have always been regarded suspiciously by Evangelicals and have often been viewed as a fanatical cult by many other denominations. **

I obtain my beliefs by reading books, and I don’t care, I like my corrupt bible of mine.

freesmileys.org/smileys/angry019.gif ** Try a real **Holy Bible someday! It may surprise you! 😃

I have no life within me, so I will not change the banner, it shows truth. I am a member of a counterfeit religion. I am corrupt, evil, and in-pure, why when you guys say it, its ok, but when I seem to represent, its bad?

**
Boo Hoo, poor little boy! :bighanky: You actually are having fun being a martyr, aren’t you? :crutches: Seriousely, I hope no one ever said you were corrupt, evil or ā€œunā€-pure! You are a child of God just as the rest of us are! We are all sinners in one way or another. I think people are just attempting to let you know that you are following a counterfeit christian organization’s beliefs. And you even admit you don’t even conform to them because you are ā€œindependentā€. So it is just you and God! I wonder who will win that arguement? ā€œBut…but, God, I didn’t know!ā€ God: ā€œYou were told!ā€ **

HS? So, you don’t sin?

We, Humans sin. But the ā€œChurchā€ can’t sin! It is the ā€œbody of christā€ He can’t sin so how could His body? If we ā€œfollowā€ the teachings of the catholic church we are doing Jesus’ will as He wanted it done, not as we ā€œthinkā€ He wants it done, or someone else says is His will!

And hatred is a part of human nature too šŸ‘

** But didn’t Jesus come to save us from our human nature?

God Bless!

This wouldn’t be an issue if, about 500 years ago, some self-styled ā€œtheologiansā€ hadn’t decided their opinions meant more than Church unity

I agree with you up to a point. the problem comes in at the point that as Catholic we have a responsibility to spread the teaching of the Gospel and the faith as it was given to us from the beginning. many of the things that protestants have problems with are things that had to be defined in response to and to combat Heresy. I still for the life of me can not figure out the problem with the rosary that protestants have. or the Hail Mary prayer.

Let us look first at the Hail Mary: first part

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

this is right out of the Gospel of Luke.

now for the second part:
*
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.*

asking others to pray for us is very bible based and the fact that that person has moved on form this world does not remove their ability to pray for us. as we are shown in the Gospel were Jesus in the transfiguration was talking with Moses and Elisha that communication with those that have dead is possible.

now for the Rosary a set of prayers

1)the apostles creed I don’t think there is anything that most non catholic Christians could disagree with
  1. THE OUR FATHER. right out of the bible
  2. THE GLORY BE : again no problem from i would say 98% of Christian.
  3. THE HAIL MARY: we covers this one all ready.
and then there are the 15 mysteries and they all but 2 or 3 come from the Gospels .

so now what is the problem with the rosary?

I’m going to jump in here an interject some commentary because I think it’s needed at this point.

I’ve spent a lot of time talking to ChristianKnight, including walking him through two complete Masses on youtube and EWTN, and I do believe to be entirely sincere in his desire to learn more about Catholicism. However, he also has a lot of issues with fighting and arguing, and he’s still young. I know that he’s had problems at home. He doesn’t respond to insults or confrontation well at all. We should not be attacking him by saying he’s a martyr and ā€œboo hooā€ and things like that. What we need to do with this young man is demonstrate an extremely high level of patience. He’s 16. If he needs something explained 20 times, then so be it. He lacks the knowledge of other denominations and history that many of us have on here, so he’s at a huge disadvantage. It’s wonderful that he is investigating our religion, but when people insult him, it leaves a very sour impression. If you want to evangelize him, you’ve got to be inviting and be his friend! We need to stop attacking him and his beliefs, and in the most excruciatingly polite way possible, present to him our faith. Otherwise, what reason will he have to stay?

Sorry, my rant is over.

ChristianKnight,

Christians have been fighting false and dangerous doctrines from the very beginning. We see this from the Bible itself in several places, but most specifically in 2 Peter. We are warned by the apostle Peter himself (the first pope) that people with false doctrines would try and break from the church and lead people astray. These false teachers are condemned, but the people that follow them have some hope! They are NOT bad people, but Peter is saying that we need to reach out to them so that they see that their mistakes are dangerous and could put their soul in jeopardy. These believers are following Christ the best they know how, but may be endangering their salvation out of ignorance.

Read the following passage:
Chapter 2
1
There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who ransomed them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2
** Many will follow their licentious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be reviled.**
3
In their greed they will exploit you with fabrications, but from of old their condemnation has not been idle and their destruction does not sleep.
4
For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but condemned them to the chains of Tartarus and handed them over to be kept for judgment;
5
4 and if he did not spare the ancient world, even though he preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, together with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the godless world;
6
and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (to destruction), reducing them to ashes, making them an example for the godless (people) of what is coming;
7
and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man oppressed by the licentious conduct of unprincipled people
8
(for day after day that righteous man living among them was tormented in his righteous soul at the lawless deeds that he saw and heard),
9
then the Lord knows how to rescue the devout from trial and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,
10
and especially those who follow the flesh with its depraved desire and show contempt for lordship. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to revile glorious beings,
11
whereas angels, despite their superior strength and power, do not bring a reviling judgment against them from the Lord.
12
But these people, like irrational animals born by nature for capture and destruction, revile things that they do not understand, and in their destruction they will also be destroyed,
13
suffering wrong as payment for wrongdoing. Thinking daytime revelry a delight, they are stains and defilements as they revel in their deceits while carousing with you.
14
Their eyes are full of adultery and insatiable for sin. They seduce unstable people, and their hearts are trained in greed. Accursed children!
15
Abandoning the straight road, they have gone astray, following the road of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved payment for wrongdoing,
16
but he received a rebuke for his own crime: a mute beast spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
17
These people are waterless springs and mists driven by a gale; for them the gloom of darkness has been reserved.
18
For, talking empty bombast, they seduce with licentious desires of the flesh those who have barely escaped from people who live in error.
19
They promise them freedom, though they themselves are slaves of corruption, for a person is a slave of whatever overcomes him.
20
For if they, having escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of (our) Lord and savior Jesus Christ, again become entangled and overcome by them, their last condition is worse than their first.
21
For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment handed down to them.
Code:
12 What is expressed in the true proverb has happened to them, "The dog returns to its own vomit," and "A bathed sow returns to wallowing in the mire."

Hey-- I had two questions previously that no one wanted to answer. They are quite unrelated, except at the core.

The first…Why is it that the one time we have recorded by God in Scripture where someone tried to elevate Mary within earshot of Jesus, this is what happened: ā€œAnd it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.ā€ (Luke 11:27-28) (And interestingly, the woman shouted it out right after Jesus gave a lesson on demons).

Here’s the second question: Why is it that the popular Catholic radio stations play mostly music created by non-Catholics? Just a thought.

** Hi Rolltide, šŸ‘‹
Many good points!
I actually like Christian. I also have had ā€œprivateā€ talks with him. He is really a nice person. Young, opinionated, arrogant and ignorant about our faith. But he is very intelligent. He has strong ā€œchristianā€ beliefs and shows compassion and wisdom well beyond his age. When he gets insulted, sometime it is more then deserved. He could stop attacking us and our beliefs! Go back and read his posts and you will see who starts fighting first! As you said he doesn’t respond to insults or confrontation well at all. So maybe you should tell him not to insult or confront others. He is better then when he first got here. he attacked some very nice people. I went to his defense several times on and off posts. He actually must want to learn but by insulting people you learn to duck! :manvspc:

God Bless! **

Well, according to the Ignatius Study Bible, it is better to belong to Jesus’ spiritual family than to his earthly family. His mother Mary is blessed on both counts, since she is Christ’s biological mother (1:42, 48) and the sterling example of one who hears and keeps the word of the Lord (1:38, 45).
Here’s the second question: Why is it that the popular Catholic radio stations play mostly music created by non-Catholics? Just a thought.
Well, non-Catholic Christians are still Christians, and many of them use more contemporary music in their services. There is nothing wrong with this music per se, but Catholics would not consider it reverent enough for their services. Since some Protestants DO use it in their services, there is more demand from them for compositions of this type. There is nothing wrong with Catholics listening to Christian music, as long as the lyrics are not blatantly heretical.

I agree, that some of his attacks are unwarranted. He has a tendency to overreact. I think, however, that this stems from his home situation. Precisely where this comes from is probably best left a private matter. I would agree that we should expect a certain level of respect too, but in this particular case, because of age and other factors, I sense that we should probably grant him a level of tolerance somewhat beyond what we might normally put up with. A solid Christian faith is precisely the type of thing that would help ChristianKnight.
