Signs of reverence and affection do not equate to worship, which is for God alone. The sale of any item has nothing to do with any infallible teaching of the pope. However, I would like to see some evidence from you about this accusation. Please show me a teaching from the pope, in his “infallible voice” (which I think you don’t understand at all) that buying any pictures will bring someone prosperity. I think you just made that up!
Again I will refer you to the forum rules, which you may not have read, or are choosing to disregard. If you want to stay here, then you will need to follow them.
No. How many? If they say it is not a sin to be drunk, then they don’t understand what the Catholic church teaches any more than you do!
It is a sad fact that there are many poorly catechized Catholics who are living in sin, and justify it to themselves.
No, Hank, this is a real perversion of Catholicism!
Actually, I doubt that such Catholics, being that ignorant about their faith, would be able to defend it at all.
It seems prudent, especially when on one’s death bed, to seek forgiveness from anyone whom one may have sinned against, don’t you think?
Really?! :bigyikes:
Did you hand out free magazines, movies, and sex toys? :bigyikes:
Gracious mercy. I suppose that there may be some gambling addicts at the bingo. Somehow I hardly think they are making the church “Thrive”. I love the line out of Mrs. Doubtfire where she says “it is my turn to pull the balls at the rectory”, referring to managing the bingo.
This is very Catholic of you! The Catholic Church teaches that one should not be enslaved to anything, therefore, addiction to gambling, alchohol, sex, or what have you are all considered falling short.
This is too bad. Since there is only one Church, I prefer to believe that all who are members of Christ’s one Body are member of it. I don’t know if it is “massive”…but it is One.
Yes. I think there are really no two alike. Separation and division seem to be the fruit of the Reformation.
