IS “false religion” really on it’s way out in the near future?
The pamphlet says it is, and VERY soon.
The pamphlet says all the governments of the world will turn upon false religion and utterly wipe it off the face of the Earth, and SOON. Further, the pamphlet quotes scripture to the effect that God will “put it into the heart” of all the world’s governments to do this very thing.
Now, let’s be calm and realistic here.
Jaypeeto4 (aka Jaypeeto3)
Dear brother Jaypeeto3,

Here’s my take on this: False Religion will be wiped out. God assures us of this, so this part is TRUE.

The little “problem” I see here is underlined.

There is no doubt of God’s providence. Yet, I am very skeptical of someone claiming to have inside knowledge of God’s methods in such detail.

That being said, if they can buy into this why in the world would they object to the Papacy when no Pope in history has had the arrogant audacity to claim such nonsense? They argue the Papacy is all wrong, they yet have an “organization” with “powers” that are so amazing that it goes beyond anything any other religion has ever claimed on the face of the earth.

I am impressed. The only other organization that I can recall off the top of my head that had this kind of arrogance to think they knew something about God that God never revealed to them is Satan and his crew.

Okay, I will keep this short. I kinda get lost in long posts, so i will be brief. I think charity is needed. all forms, including feeding the hungry, and all the other stuff that was mentioned. I dont know how to really link stuff from other sites. look at the press release section on the jw site. www.watchtower.org
I need to sit down and learn this site and computer. Sorry. But, as far as linking to things like financial statements, I dont believe that’s on the web. We all know what our individual halls have in the bank. We find out every month. more next post(thanks for that one)
Hi Shushawnna.

Glad to see you here again I know you are busy and even on a normal week let alone now you are taxed for time even though the Lord tells us his yoke is light. I understand. I dont expect to see financial statements and only asked if rank and file Jw’s have or get these statements. Must they request them in some formal way? how are they distributed to the hall members? Just wondering. I dont need actual statements. In the past and as far as I know now there are many halls that do not do this. I dont know what district you are in and how long you have been a witness, but it sounds like you are in a very progressive branch. If things have changed, I am very happy to hear it.

Have you gotten a chance to print out the words of the JW New and improved Baptism ritual? I think we would all like to see how its done word for word. Its truly a unique and very unbiblical method that is currently being used.

Dear Shush-

I just read your “should icons be used in worship”? in the offical site. Maybe you would consider posting a thread in the Eastern Orthodox portion of this forum since the Greek Orthodox are mentioned in it? It is a topic that I think they would find highly interesting, and you may be able to get your point across there to help them understand your take on it. Just a thought.
the incense article got me incensed.
Its amazing how perverse these articles are.

Hi Damascus !!
I do agree that God will one day bring false religion, and every other false thing on earth, to an end.
But the scenario the JWs paint of all the world’s governments, together with the U.N., suddenly one day deciding to wipe out all religion from the face of the earth – and very SOON NOW at that — is just way too unrealistic. God can certainly put such an idea into men’s hearts, but even God will NOT overrule men’s free will. Plus all the world’s governments would have to have the military ability to DO THIS, which at present and for the forseeable future, they certainly don’t. Not only that, but devoutly religious people are the leaders of many of the world’s governments. IRAN is a Theocracy. Saudi Arabia is a Kingdom, but run like a theocracy. Devout Muslims rule nearly every country in the Muslim world. Devout Hindus - with very few exceptions - run the show in vast India.

You don’t just wake up one day, and on that same day, decide to both apostasize AND to demolish religion altogether.
Besides, the Watchtower has predicted the physical destruction of all the worlds religions by all the world’s governments before.
It was to occur in 1918, which of course, it didn’t. This was another false prophecy made in God’s Name, by the JW
“Faithful and Discreet Slave Class.”

Obviously, they have no idea what they are talking about.
But this alarmist pamphlet which they are passing out, with their idiotic interpretation of Ecclesiastes’s statement about the dead,
will influence many easily-alarmed, ill-informed, and weak minded people.

As for Ecclesiastes saying that the dead are conscious of nothing at all, the writer is speaking about the state of the dead in Old Testament times and specifically with regard to their knowlege of what is still occuring on earth (“under the sun”).
The statement that when they die, “their thoughts perish” does not mean that the dead do not have an intelligent rational soul that survives death. It means that when man dies, his plans on earth come to an end “under the sun,” i.e., his thoughts or plans perish. The JWs completely misinterpret Ecclesiastes, and any Jewish person will tell them so, but they won’t listen to anyone but their self-anointed Governing Body in Brooklyn, New York.

I hear you Jaypeeto.

I am hoping Shushwana will come back to explain all this to us because I am rapidly becoming anxious to hear how all of these prophecies came about.

I know I will hear many out-of-context scripture quoted at me if they do even attempt it, but I am open minded and my faith does not prohibit me from reading their literature. I think we need to open ourselves in heart and mind to their viewpoint so that we can look at what they say to see if there is any truth to this at all. I mean that. Lets examine the evidence as we are encouraged to use reason with our faith. We as Catholics do not check our brain at the door and blindly accept things. We must do that here too.

Hope we will be hearing more from them.🙂

Okay, I will keep this short. I kinda get lost in long posts, so i will be brief. I think charity is needed. all forms, including feeding the hungry, and all the other stuff that was mentioned
That’s good! I’m glad to hear that you believe that all forms of charity are needed. However, I don’t get the feeling that your faith thinks that this is highly needed.

To be fair, I did go back to watchtowr.org and found what those “press release” that you are talking about, (I had to really look for it), and I will get back to that later.

The main point is that on the main home page there is an article about the homeless. If one reads that article it talks about how JW strive to share the bible. It does NOT mention feeding the homeless, or giving shelter to the homeless. On the main page is an article about the homeless and in that article the only thing it said is that JW strive to share the Bible truth with the homeless.
I dont know how to really link stuff from other sites.
The easiest way to link is this. Open up a second web browser window. In the second web browser window go to the web page that you want to share. Once you have the web page, right click on the web address (which is found at the top of the browser window). Right click on the web address and say copy.

I assume that on your first browser window you have CAF forums on and you are in the “reply to thread”. Right click in the text writing area and say paste. This will paste the web address into the text that you are writing. Thus creating a link. I see that you had a link to watchtower.org in your last reply. (this is because you typed in the words www.watchtower.org) If you type in the words to the web page you will get a link.

However, the easiest way is to copy and paste. I hope you understand what I mean, and can use it to your advantage when posting here at CAF. If you need more help with this then PM (private message) me, and I will see what I can do for you. To PM me: click on my screen name at the top of this post. You will see the option to send private message to mommyof02green. Highlight and click on that option. You then can send me a private message. (It’s better to do that, then to tie up this thread with a bunch of tips on how to use the forum.)
More in next post

continue from last post
look at the press release section on the jw site. www.watchtower.org
That’s just it on the main page there is no option or menu choice for “press release”. That’s is why before I asked for a direct link. I was not finding it. I went back to watchtower.org and clicked on the option for jw-media.org.

It was under the option jw-media.org was I able to find these press release. So the press releases are NOT on watchtower.org web site, they are on a sister site. That’s why I couldn’t find it before. I still had a hard time finding, it because your directions said to go to watchtower.org and look at the press releases. That to me meant that the press releases are on watchtower.org. However, they are NOT at watchtower.org but on jw-media.org the sister site.

So while at jw-media.org I clicked on the “current releases”, under the NEWSROOM heading. Which took me to a second page, and once there I clicked on the option to view Humanitarian Efforts {click here to see}

According to the web-page Humanitarian Efforts were done in 1/05 and 9/05 to help the victims of Hurricanes in the US. According to the web-page Humanitarian Efforts were done 8/03 to help those in MONROVIA. According to the web-page Humanitarian Efforts were done 1/02 to help those in CONGO KINSHASA. According to the web-page Humanitarian Efforts were done 7/01 to help those in Houston TX whose homes were destroyed by flood waters.

So that’s 7/01; 1/02; 8/03; 1/05 and 9/05.
What about the year 2004? Do JW belief that in 2004 NO one needed help? They must believe that to be true, because there was NO humanitarian efforts done that year.
What about 9/11/01?? Why didn’t the JW do something for all those victims??

Also I noticed that there is only 1 thing done per year (except for 2004). Where those the only people in need those years??

I don’t know, maybe I’m just being too critical. Maybe I’m comparing apples to oranges. I mean, in my church there is money collect every time we gather to feed the poor, every year we pledge so much money to go to 3rd world countries to feed and give medicine to those people. 5 times a year my church collects food, diapers, shampoo, blankets, etc to be given to the local homeless shelter. Every year, my parish finds 2-3 people in need of house work done and yard work done. (painting, weeding, mowing, fixing plumbing etc.) We go and fix the stuff that needs to fix, paint the house, weed and mow the yard.

Every year, my parish bakes cookies and other treats for the elderly. The children of the parish draw pictures for the elderly and families take them to the elderly and visit with them.

Every year our parish adopts a 6-8 block area and “clean it up” once a month. Meaning we go out and pick up the trash that is laying around.

There is so much that needs to be nationally and locally.

What does your local faith community do for the people in your area? Does you local faith community send money or can foods to the local homeless shelter or food pantry to feed the hungry? Does your local faith community paint, clean up, and fix a home of someone in your community so they will have a better place to live?? Does your faith community regularly clean up trash?

Or counseling services for women who are pregnant and considering the MURDER of ABORTION no matter what faith?

Or are they disfellowshipped instead if they are JW in your hall?

Are they really that hard on Abortion???
Cause I was reading the jw-media.org site and JUST read that Birth Control is a “personal choice”. {click here to see}

JW must not know that Birth Control Pills causes Abortions!
I think that read this might help “Birth Control” Pills cause early Abortions {click here}

The bible is clear: “thou shall not kill”
Birth control pills can and do cause abortions…that is killing a child, yet according to jw-media.org a JW has the personal choice to use birh control. :hmmm: What’s up with that?

Thank God that the Catholic Church still teaches that Birth Control is a Sin!

Yes, it is shocking. I am aware of the ABC issue but not how long it has been this way. It has been this way as long as I remember but- They as usual have an argument for that one as sick as it is.

Now, the illustration I posed was a woman pregnant speculating on abortion.

I word my questions carefully.

I will add lets call her unwed and teenage to boot.

Mommy 2 of green- How about we are glad the Catholic Church has NEVER changed their position on BC?

Youre still the one! Who can make me happy, Still the one! Who can make me smile, I’m still having fun, and she’s still the ONE!

Is that how the words go?

:bounce: or something like that… 😃 :dancing:

This pamphlet was waiting for me when I returned from my parish’s annual Church Bazaar today. For some odd reason my dad likes to read it.

If they really mean the end of false religion is near, then that means ALL ‘Kingdom Halls’ will mysteriously disappear! It has to mean that, doesn’t it?

I rarely answer my door when they come and this is the first time in awhile I’ve gotten their junk.

our parish is getting donations for Christmas hampers, we donate to the poor, an on and on and on. do they donate to the poor? no.do they have coat drives? no. do they give to local food banks? no. do they offer a homeless family lunch? not that i’ve ever seen.

do they help fund research for diseases like cancer? nope. do they give to Saint Vincent de Paul? nope. here is what i know they do:

they build kingdom halls fast ( for publicity ) they let you leave the society in your will. they love it when you help one of their own. they have donation boxes for the literature, and oh yes, of course you can feel free to donate to the society, or the kingdom hall.

but that is about it. no collection plate, nothing. no donations to important causes… let’s see… Jesus fed 5,000 gave to the poor…umm, raised the dead, cured diseases, and so on. what do they do? not alot. give your hard earned money to us and not to people who desperately need it…we need it.

no indepedent thinking now!!! the society comes first cuzz we speak for God ( yeah right ) God would never treat people the way this rich society does. Never! He cares for the poor, the downtrodden, the sick, the injured, the dying, the elderly, the homeless, the hungry and so on and on and on. Who are we to deny help to those who need it?

Jesus gave His help and He commanded us to be charitable. Their idea of charity is to build quick halls for publicity, and to help themselves, and not others. when they help someone, you can be guarenteed it is to their best interest only. potential recruit. that is all they see. ( or publicity if it is a huge disaster )

Did any of them help the victims of Hurricane Katrina? or the victims in Sudan? or The Indonesian tsunami? Or the thousands upon thousands of hungry families world wide? noooooooo.

Does the Catholic Church help? Yup. Do the Protestants help? Yup. do the jw’s help? nope. case closed.

As to the question of whether or not the Witness leadership knows that oral contraceptives can cause abortions:

Those who have access to Watchtower volumes may want to look up the “Questions From Readers” in the June 15, 1989 Watchtower, answering the question “Is it compatible with Bible principles for a Christian married couple to use birth control pills?”

Those interested in researching the Catholic position on contraception may like to read the encyclical of Pope Paul VI, entitled “Humanae Vitae” (viewed by many as prophetic :yup: )
vatican.va/holy_father/paul_vi/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-vi_enc_25071968_humanae-vitae_en.html

And here is another article showing how birth control pills can cause abortions:
omsoul.com/pamphlet126.How-the-Pill-and-Other-Contraceptives-Work.html

I was thinking that maybe a good AUDIO might be helpful to our JW brothers and sisters. I have known that JW may not read materials that are from Non-JW. However, just today I learn that there is NO rule about listening to Non-JW Audio tapes/CD or watching a Non-JW video. In other words, it’s my understanding that is OKAY for JW to listen to tapes and audios from Non-JW. In other words, it’s my understanding that is OKAY for JW to watch DVD/VCR tapes done by Non-JW. (I past out literature, however I might also be passing out FREE audios to the JW that come to my door as well)

John Martignoni web-site biblechristiansociety.com has FREE audios. Of course there is $1.00 fee for shipping ($1.00 per tape or CD make it affordable to pass out). So I might be ordering some of his audios, so I have them to past out to the JW that come knocking at my door. If anyone else knows where to get inexpensive audios please PM with the information. Also if you know of a good audio re: How birth control causes abortions, please also PM me with that information. Thanks God Bless.

I learn about Birth Control causing Abortions by listening to either Open Line or CA. However, I can’t find an audio right now… Again, if you know where I can find inexpensive audios please PM me. Or if you know where I can get an audio re: how Birth Control causes abortions please PM.

Not sure where your source of information for that is coming from, but I would advise you to view it with scepticism. I have some familiarity with the Witnesses, and I have never heard anything like this. They are taught not to listen to anything by “opposers”, or worse yet, “apostates”. That is, information that is specifically aimed against, or mentions in a negative way, the Witnesses - whether it be in printed form or some other media.

The last article that I linked to in my post - “How the Pill and Other Contraceptives Work” , by Chris Kahlenborn - should be acceptable to them; it does not single out and name the Witnesses.

They are also very uncomfortable with information of a religious nature that does not originate with their leadership. They would view it as coming from “Babylon the Great”, and if the material is Christian, as coming from “The Man of Lawlwessness” of 2 Thessalonians 2:3. That is why they will not generally accept relgious brochures such as “Pillar of Fire” at the door. The reason why I think that the Kahlenborn article that I link to above would be acceptable to them is because 1) it does not single out the Witnesses, and 2) it is not of a religious nature.

Mommy 2 of Green,

You know I love ya honey , but youre all wrong on this premise that the rank and file JW can do this crazy and dangerous thing: read non JW or listen to NON JW religious stuff. Oh no. THey are not supposed to be on this site either and there are 3 possible explainations for this that I can come up with. I will let your imagination wander on those possibilities.

I suspect and mentioned earlier some posibilities here.
  1. Bethelites.
  2. they are not rank and file. They may be higher ups.
  3. they are simply disobedient to the rules
No matter how you slice it, its not good.

If its number 2, the quality of the aplogetics skills of the higher ups has tanked since I saw last.

My inside source is betting on number 3. There are many of that senario out there now.

Yes, I know that they are not allowed to read stuff from Non-JW. I also believed that they could not listen to non-JW stuff too. However, I just “heard” that they could listen to Non-JW stuff.

So I was thinking if that is true, then the chances of them receiving the material will be higher if I gave them an audio vs. giving them literature. That’s all…

Again if anybody knows of where to get inexpensive audio tapes/CD or DVD/VCR tapes please PM me.
