Yes…I enjoyed it to…
It’s already happened: Pope Alexander I of Alexandria.. I see one coming from Africa before coming from the USA.
Yes, I knowPope Francis doesn’t seem to care about “red cap” cities.
I’m sorry, but we only have one good Cardinal living in the US under 80. The rest are too political. If this were to turn into an argument over who has the best bishop, I would stand up for mine, against anyone except Peter Sartain. (regional pride vs. family pride). We do have some great Cardinal’s in the U.S.
People from Argentina are “Hispanic.”Actually, he’s ethnically Italian, which is white.
Additionally, Argentina is pretty heavily non-hispanic - there are a lot of European immigrants there
IMO, as there are 4X the amount of cardinals from Italy than any other country, it is very difficult for me to think of anyone who will be made pope who isn’t from Italy, or at the very least speaks Italian. I wish the qualifications we’re different but that seems to be the case.I’m calling it now
The first American pope will be from the diocese of Lincoln
The reason for that is this:Augustinian:![]()
Well, within the United States, it does. Not so much in every corner of the Americas. (The name America was first applied to the southern land mass of the Western Hemisphere, not the northern, in any event.)He’s an Argentine, “American” by itself refers to those of us in the United States,
Cardinal Arinze is way too old. He’s 85 now.The next pope will be either Card. Arinze or Card. Sarah.
This is probably the only place where a 65 year old would be considered “young”.My money is on Cardinal Reinhard Marx. He’s young,
