Mass is being in the gymnasium? Why is Mass not held in the Church? The GIRM is very clear that he is not perpetrating a liturgical abuse by allowing families to stand during the consecration during our Children’s Mass in the gymnasium.
And, no: kneeling in our hearts is not more important. That makes no sense. Again, it’s a nice cliche to make everyone feel good. Kneeling is always meant to be external. Saying “Kneeling in our hearts” is just plain ludicrous. We must keep the externals in order to keep the internal faith. If the externals vanish then so will the internal eventually.
If I knew where this Mass was held I would write a letter to the bishop for you. It is vitally important that we follow the GIRM and keep great reverence to our Eucharistic Lord. It is wrong to stand at the consecration. Lack of kneelers is not a provision in the GIRM and I don’t see it as a good reason either.
