One difference in the Oreos we used to get here compared with those in USA was here they were made in Indonesia and had lard for their shortening.

Just not the same taste…

Butter yes, butter is better. I am not a vegan.
 
We used to shop there when my daughter lived in PA, I think they are in other states too. It’s a good grocery store.

She usually goes all out for Christmas especially on sweets. Panettone, rugelach, fruit cake and mince pies. An international selection.

I grew up all over the world due to my father’s employer transferring him all over the place.

I’ve been saving bacon drippings for a while, and they make a great shortening…depending on what you’re cooking, that is! Perhaps I’m confusing shortening with something else though. I’m still salivating over that stack of bacon in your pic. 👅

You got to eat according to the season. That strawberry shortcake is so summer. It’s no longer summer.

It’s late fall or early winter, depending on where you live. Have some pumpkin pie or some mince pies instead.
