My penance for Lent is to look at this thread and be sad about all the foods I cannot eat.

I would like some fried pies 😋

So would I like some! What flavor are those pies I can’t eat anyway? Any cherry in there?

They’ve been passed under a nuclear fuel rod. They’ll never go bad ☢️

Yes I love it too, I enjoy making this for family and they always enjoy eating it. 😀

That’s great…and they will happily remember such a nice treat 🙂
My two duck ladies have decided to lay again ,and this time around I’m determined to try making sponges .My daughter makes the pavlovas
in the woodstove as its dying out.
Now I’m drooling 😁

I have never had much success with sponges, even though I really enjoy them with oodles of cream. A student once make one as a thank you, it’s was divine!

I bet your daughter enjoys making the pav for everyone too. You must give me your recipe for the sponge you use. I might have better success with a well tried recipe 😀

I have a confession to make…

I cannot stand any sort of dessert that involves peanut butter.
It just tastes wrong.

I would be disowned if I ever put anything at all in the family cheesecake. The cheesecake is not to be adulterated.

Aha! 🙂 My daughter has tried quite a few and there’s a honey one that that she makes that is superb 😉

Knowing the family recipe, I think it would be difficult to add anything to it successfully. It’s a good old southern recipe from the days before anyone down South believed in “watching their waistline.” Very, very few people can eat more than one smallish slice at a time.
