When we’ve gone to any kind of a fair, we’ve had to get a funnel cake.
To me, you can’t go to a fair and not have a funnel cake.
Also, fried Cheddar cheese curds. They’re a staple at Wisconsin fairs. You can always find them at any Wisconsin fair. They taste so good when they’re fried.
Sure, you can find them in our Supermarkets and bake them in the oven at home, but there’s nothing so good as a small container of them from a fair, that has been deep fried.

I’m not having this during Lent. It’s a Sweden Torte, tremendously popular in Switzerland. The cake is so light, it could float away, and the filling is delicious. Not fluffy, just light. I used to get a slice at the Migros restaurant every time I went grocery shopping. I miss Migros!

I haven’t been to a fair in years!
Around here, they are just too huge and crowded. I don’t mind the crowds, but I don’t like having to park in someone’s lawn (people rent them out for parking, I would never park without permission!) or taking public transportation. I prefer the smaller county fairs, but never seem to get to them. They are more fun!

Occassionally my kids and I go to an Agricultural Show Day and the Circus…Fairy Floss is a must ! I usually go to the locally made icecream stand for a double scoop and an oven baked potato with the works .
