Have some of the Easter Cake I just baked! 😄 No way! I couldn’t make it if my life depended on it! My mom used to make Easter Cakes that looked like bunnies, though, but not quite like this one.

Yeah, I don’t think that stiff rolled out layer is very tasty. I always wonder who eats those IRL?
 
I always wanted a bunny cake. Didn’t care much how it tasted as long as it was cute. Always wanted a chocolate bunny, too, but mom wouldn’t let us have one, said the chocolate wasn’t high quality! Gee! We only cared that it was shaped like a bunny, not how it tasted!

That’s the layer of fondant, and then there’s usually a really yummy layer of buttercream underneath. I’ll take the buttercream! 😋

I think that the fondant doesn’t really have much taste, and is basically meant more for display. I could be wrong, but I think that I heard that somewhere?

Just got back from the place where we ordered out wedding cake in 2011. Had a nice Southern lunch: salmon cakes, sweet potato souffle, baby limas with ham, and cornbread, sweet tea. Brought home a small Hummingbird cake for dessert with coffee later. Our wedding cake was half Humminbird cake and half Red Velvet cake.

Hummingbird cake and @Cruciferi’s Cinnamon Roll Cake BOTH look delicious! I think I need to diet! But not going to! 😄

I ‘liked’ the Hummingbird cake yesterday even before I could see it as it wouldn’t load.Definitely liking ,no make that loving it now! 😋 Would be wonderful for afternoon tea.

Cinnamon Roll Cake with coffee for breakfast, Hummingbird Cake for tea! Perfect! (And I LOVE salmon cakes!)

Hummingbird Cake is sooo good. We make ours from scratch. Takes time. But the results are delicious.😋😋😋
