Surely they can make informed decisions. I certainly hope so - they can drive a car 65mph on the highway. They can pass math and english tests requiring critical thinking. They can have boyfriends and girlfriends and even engage in the marital act. They can be parents.The child can not make an informed decision. That is why two children who are the same age can not even marry, not without written consent from both parents. Those laws are there to protect children. We are talking about a legally binding contract, no child may enter a legal contract until they are 18.
Meanwhile, there are mentally retarded adults that cannot drive vehicles but can get married.
It is much MORE logical to allow teenagers to get married than homosexuals - you should be fighting for their rights.
