And I’m sure any man here can attest to the sheer number of guys who don’t wash their hands after urinating in public restrooms…
even a single layer homemade cotton masks captured 50% of 0.02-1 micron particles, compared with 80% for the surgical mask. They also reduce face touching (on skin anyway) and will catch your cough if you were spreading the virus. Thanks for explaining, I disagree with the mask statement though as the virus is microscopic
Yep. And it’s worse than you think. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/doctors-hand-hygiene-plummets-watched-study-finds/story?id=39737505we do not have a hand washing culture here.
I think wearing masks is part theater and part practical. But sometimes good theater gets results by focusing attention. There are also health experts saying that a mask can greatly increase the risk. So you just gotta fo what is right for you, I guess.
I suspect testing is the only way to confirm positive test cases. Canada appears to be using two designations: confirmed and probable, but the probables are not counted in the final data.I just read 10 000 new cases in the States in one day. Maybe better testing?
Just out of interest, I calculated positive test results as a percentage of completed numbers of tests and placed them on a map from geology.com So far…If you want to explore data for your state, or the total US, go to below link.
I just looked and our testing is now over 70k tests/day. It was just 25k/day a week ago.

It’s disingenuous of us to act like we don’t always do this. Here’s a CBC article which points to the problem of pitting vulnerable populations against the economy and specifically addresses the debate in the corona virus context.
