Respectfully, are you simply trying to be provocative, or do you really believe this?

We can only hope, but sedonaman’s response was pricelessI’m thinking the poster was just joking.
Take a look at the sacrament of confession. We all know how we males are, things go in one ear and out the other.
Now with all due respect to women imagine them listening to peoples confessions it would drive them mad. Tell a woman something and it stays with her forever.
God did not want women to hear confessions.
Not just definitive. It was signed by the Pope with the words “is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful”From ORDINATIO SACERDOTALIS
"*4. Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal Tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the Magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church’s judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force.
Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful.*" - John Paul II, 1994
Pretty definitive in my opinion…
The matter is closed. The Pope has spoken, and defined. Infallibility has been declared.“it has been set forth infallibly by…” “Roman Pontiff, exercising his proper office of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32), has handed on this same teaching by a formal declaration, explicitly stating what is to be held always, everywhere, and by all, as belonging to the deposit of the faith.”
Not to dilute the import of the Apostolic letter nor the correctness of the teaching, but whether or not this declaration is in and of itself an infallible declaration is still the subject of theological debate. Not just definitive. It was signed by the Pope with the words “is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful”
This is therefore an infallible statement.
That does not come from me. the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith have stated this.
Here is their Response Ad Dubium to people questioning the authority of the above statement from their own website:
RESPONSUM AD PROPOSITUM DUBIUM CONCERNING THE TEACHING CONTAINED IN “ORDINATIO SACERDOTALIS”
The matter is closed. The Pope has spoken, and defined. Infallibility has been declared.
It is rare for anything to be defined this clearly.
Out of curiousity, what Scripture have you reviewed in reaching your conclusion, and how has the Catholic Church misinterpreted this Scripture? All the scripture I have looked at, that has been pointed out as the reason for only-male-priests, IMO, does not point toward keeping women from being ordained (tho I know that my opinion, or anyone’s opinion or “feeling” or “instinct”–even if they are Catholic–is not taken into account in the Church) even though it was at some point along the way as the religion grew interpreted that way.
Even though everyone got the memo, some seem to think its still up for discussion. It’s not going to happen. The Church, as Pope John Paul II has clearly communicated to all the faithful, has no authority to ordain women.
In spite of what the feminists say, the genders are not the same; each has its strengths and its weaknesses. The proof in this case is not in the pudding, but in the voting. Consider that starting with the 1980 presidential election, women gave Reagan only a 1% advantage over Carter. ***That’s Jimmy Carter, for heaven’s sake! ***In 1988, proving that it wasn’t a fluke, the ladies gave Bush a mere 1% edge over Dukakis. That’s Michael Dukakis, for heaven’s sake!
After that, things only got worse. In the next five elections, they not only helped to elect Clinton twice, but they voted overwhelmingly for Gore, Kerry, and Obama.
Maybe that’s why they are not to be ordained. If a major league baseball player struck out that many times, he’d be on the next bus to Trenton or Wilkes-Barre.
Complaining that women can’t be ordained is like complaining that men can’t have babies.
Have hope. We are still digging out of the rubble of the last 40 years.Even though everyone got the memo, some seem to think its still up for discussion.
It’s interesting, as being a priest is probably one of the worst “jobs” in the Church. Lately, I have been inspired by the religious, especially those who contribute here on the CAF, and have learned a great deal from them. There are noble vocations open to everyone, yet we don’t see throngs beating down the doors of monasteries, friaries and convents.
Pray fervently for vocations!
Yes.What I always find so fascinating about these threads that question the Church about some theological issue or other, is that, it is initiated by a ‘Trial Member.’ Then, once the question is, for all practical intents and purposes, gets definitively answer,* there is no feed back from the OP.*
Just saying it how it is.This is embarrassing

This is just simply how it is.
Not proud of it, but I agree. Men are better than women at “letting things go” (in one ear and out the other). Of course the women I know call that “selective hearing” and I make sure that I repeat that (so they know I was listening).![]()
Duh, doesn’t everyone know that the Church is against gay marriageThe Church is the Bride of Christ so she needs to marry a man not a woman.
Of course they fall under natural law! THIS IS THE TRUTH PEOPLE!I do not know but I would guess that gender relationships would fall under natural law.
Ah, God’s voice came from the clouds, telling you personally that he did not desire women to be confessors because they are chatty, and men are preferred because they are forgetful. Sounds reasonable!Just saying it how it is.
