The idea that the Creator could not have used evolution because it would depend on the deaths of billions of animals is odd because billions of animals have indeed died in creation.

I am a big fan of science, always have been, and my young earth creationist phase was never going to last more than a month.

My concern is not that it is possible that evolution may be found to be false. My concern is when Catholics whom agree with the theory of evolution are presented in a round-about way as heretics that have sold their soul to the atheist agenda. It is that idea that annoys me.

Not to mention, the reasons why Christians reject evolution is not so clear cut as “we disagree with the science”, because when people present the evidence it is ignored. I see evidence of this because it’s usually the case that when they argue against evolution it ultimately amounts to a straw-man.

I’m sure you disagree of course. But i think in most cases there is more to the disagreement than “the science is wrong”, and that is why i made this thread, because the authority of the church is under attack by the very same people who presume to defend it agaisn’t Atheism.

Eve, according to the Church, was the first woman. But Mitochondrial Eve was almost certainly not. Two different characters.
 

Modern science not the Bible is telling you the Mother of all living was around 6000 years ago.
and what happened to all the children of those many many other woman ?
I think fallacy is starting to show up.

It’s not what the bible is telling me. Your selling me your interpretation. And even if the human race was in fact only 6000 years old, that doesn’t change the fact that we are not required as Catholics to believe so.

It’s funny how you guys pick and choose science when you want. When you think it supports your interpretation it’s right, when you think it doesn’t it’s wrong. That’s not reasonable.

Reason is the ability to see the works of God and know him through them
I can tell your getting upset and not getting what we are discussing here.
We are not discussing what the church teaches or what we are required to believe, we are discussing our understanding of the bible story of Creation and through that I was hoping to lead you into truth and show you that you are not a product of chance and that you are deliberately made in the Image and Likeness of God your Father.
Science says that we trace our linage back to one woman around 6000 years ago and she is only one of many woman 6000 years ago ok we agree that that is what she said right? so if this is what she said then answer this question with reason where are the children of all these other woman? I can go to Africa India or Europe and every man woman and child will have their Mitochondrial DNA from this one woman.

I don’t believe that i am ontologically a product of chance. I understand that my biological nature shares DNA in common with other creatures, and i think it’s evident that some degree of chance is involved in that physical process. As far as my soul is concerned, i was created by God. And my mother helped to produce my biological being. God bless her.

If you really had evidence in support of your position that’s big news. Why wouldn’t you provide what she or he asked for?

The Church has built up by allowing people of science to see that in actual reality the Church is not against them. Our faith is reasonable, not just some leap of faith belonging to a bygone age.

That’s what i call building up.

Mitochandrial dna traces back to one woman, if you can explain why there is not millions of Mothers of all living then take the floor, if not why is there no sign of another woman’s off spring on the planet?
I don’t care what kind of spin these evolutionists put on things to make it fit their theory, and you do know they made this video to tell you that we know this science is right but it sort of destroys our theory so we need a spin any old would it would seem will do.
 
Then your far from God and not able to hear the truth if you call that building a Holy church.
The church was built up by the Holy Spirit leading the church in truth and by the blood of Christ. Not bowing down to atheistic science designed by the enlightenment movement to take God from his throne and replace him with Man and all they had to do was get people to say “Did God really say that”
