Need information. How dose the Catholic Church see this happening. I also understand the rapture was inserted into the original Bible. Is that true and when was it inserted?
The bolded words are what we should watch for. Anything more than this is blind guesswork at best, misleading lies at the worst. That is ALL that the Lord has revealed.Luke 21
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Etymologically, “rapture” is taken from the Latin “rapiemur”, which appears in the Latin Vulgate. So technically the word is appropriate, but given the existence of Dispensationalism, I think translating it as such rather than giving the Latin word’s meaning would be unwise. If “Rapture” appears in your bible, burn it! It is man-made!
I’m not really sure I’d say we’re being persecuted. Culturally, there’s resistance to Catholic teaching. However, it is still a big deal if someone flips you off while driving away all because you’re Christian. I’m not sure I’d call such an environment “persecution”. It just seems disrespectful to what Christians elsewhere are going through. We have it really good right now. Could it be better? Sure, but let’s not act like facing resistance is equivalent to persecution. It certainly is in the US.
You could also argue that none of these have occurred and maybe they won’t for millions of years. One could make an argument that all three have occurred.
