I mean avenues of thinking. seems like religion just kind of wants to shut a person down, as we can see here in this thread. I have a question, why do you even bother with having the old testament? I never understood this. Do catholics or even christians bother reading it?

A scripture for my friends paarsurrey, planten, Ben Masada;

I can excuse paarsurrey and planten for their ignorance of things of God because their religion does not come on the seen for another 800 years. But you Ben, who can not understand these mystical things of God about Marriage. Ben; you know very well who the “Harlot” is when the prophets spoke about her when she went into harlatory by worshipping other gods. I am surprised you fail to understand that God does not change. Especially when God makes a covenant it is till death do you part, this my friends is the eternal Marriage with Jesus in the New and everlasting Covenant. So I leave you with Jesus and the prophets who spoke very well of you three.

Mathew 13:13
6 This is why I speak to them in parables, because ‘they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand.’
14
**Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: ‘You shall indeed hear but not understand you shall indeed look but never see.
15
Gross is the heart of this people, they will hardly hear with their ears, they have closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.’ **16
7 "But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.
17
Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Peace be with you

The OT is the proof that Jesus would be exactly Who He said He would be by fulfilling the 300+ prophecies that He gave His prophets over the course of 4000 years.

And yes** Catholics hear all the scriptures at Mass.**
The first one of the OT prophecy.
The second is the fulfilment thru Resurrection and what it means to us.
And the Gospel is how Jesus reiterates the OT thru His teachings.

If we go to Mass daily - we would see how they match. The prophecy, the fulfilling and the outcome.

And many Catholics may take classes or study the OT but not on their own so they can ‘wrest’ the scriptures and Epistles which Peter warned about.

AND NO - God doesn’t provide us with several avenues of thinking. He isnt apathtetic to His own truths - so it’s inane to suggest we should be relative when it comes to finding the truth.

2 Timothy 2
13 If we believe not, he continueth faithful, he can not deny himself.

I think that Isaiah is speaking against the christian and catholic faiths. Do not pull just a couple of verses out to support yourself. Read it all and perhapst you will start to actually SEE and HEAR. God says their is only one God and there is no other right? Guess that leaves jesus out in the cold. 😉

I went to midnight mass once. it scared me more than the idea of Jesus being married. Talk about the blind. i never understand how catholics could deny idol worship.

those coming off as arrogant and close minded are those who are the catholics here, for th most part anyway. I have a question, when one accepts this god Jesus into their life, is it a requirement to turn off any and extra avenues of thought? If so, then you can count me out. What is so wrong with Jesus getting married? It hasn’t worked out well for the priests of the catholic church to abstain. Seems like the Jew makes an interesting point.
What is of the flesh is flesh what is of the Spirit is Spirit. The flesh disappears and the Spirit is eternal;

There are many individuals who were not married in the bible. Why are you so adamit about marrying off Jesus for? It did not happen as Ben and others try to distort scripture to make something there that is not. There is nothing wrong with Jesus being married because he has taken only one Bride his Catholic church please reference Ephesians 4-5:21-32.

Being in Jesus Christ we are at liberty to discern what is “Truth”. Are you at liberty to look into the Catholic Christian faith without the threat of death as Muslims are? This type of non liberty “TURNS OFF ANY AVENUES OF EXTRA THOUGHT”. Is it not more wise to see and understand the things of Jesus Christ before you strike at him or condemn him and his body in the Catholic church?

Catholic Christians are at liberty to understand and see your belief’s, why cant Muslims or others who attack the Catholic church, pay the same respect here?

Tell me wise one, can you explain who God is and what he is?
When Catholics worship God these 2000 years, We confess before God that we believe in “ONE GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY”. I guess someone has “lied” to you about what Catholics believe.

Tell me, do you confess before the World that there is only ONE God? This statement is part of Catholics proffession of faith for 2000 years now. How old is your faith? and do they profess such a faith as a doctrine?

You see how I ask of you what I do not know, before applying any bias, or prejudiced statements. Because you did not post a religion in your profile, raises a suspicion that your faith is not very strong because you cannot proclaim to believe in ONe God yet. As far as Catholics our faith in ONe God is a matter of profession of faith before becoming fully initiated into the Body of Jesus Christ.

So please refrain from making false statements of the Catholic church unless you can prove it? Or allow Catholics to explain what you do not understand, or what someone has misinformed you about the Catholic faith.

Peace be with you

😉 I like that. Alot in fact. I should see about having my name changed to wise one. 👍

🤓 …clears throat… did you know that the egyptians were “monotheistic” as well. in the book of the dead they acknowledge only one God the Creator. Yet, this was not good enough for that God since he still chose the Jews over them. You do realize that Catholics are too close to comfort to the egyptian way of thinking dont you?

Lets run down a list of all those the catholics pray to shall we?
  1. pope
  2. mary, the virgin lol do you know that to have a child you cannot be a virgin? i have heard anyway.
  3. jesus (i think, do you even pray to jesus)
  4. and many saints (got tired of counting)
the jew throwing out the idea that Jesus is married seems less offensive to me.

**It is a good question. It is against the teachings of Jesus. The NT is a new wine. The OT is the old wine. Jesus forbade people to put new wine into old winesacks.

What the christians need the OT for? Just to catch a few words of support for Jesus from there? And in those words there is no name of Jesus or Mary or church or christainity? And the christinas have parted ways with the Jewish law and abondoned the Moses law as a Curse. How bad? That was suggested to them by Paul. And still teh christians ask us “What was the fault of Paul”.

Jesus did not abondon the law. He supported and followed it fully. So did his mother Mary and so did all his true apostles. But when Jesus had gone away and the field was clear (empty), Paul jumped in “in the name of Jesus…”. jesus had warned that many will come “in his name…”. Paul was number One there who came in the name of Jesus.

There are so many complications in the church teachings. But let us see how the Catholics can resolve any of them. The christians should faithfully dump the old testament. They do not follow any of the commandments of the Old Testament, so there is no need to keep it attached with their testament which they call New Testament. Why have New wine poured into old winesack?**

So then why not just slice off the beginning portion since it is against the idol worship and let it remain with its people?

**We need to have Jesus married because he was a human and an important person (as you say) and he should be a good example in this world for the men. If he does not marry, how he would know the hardships and problems of married life?

Please be kind. Do not diverge. Do not go on a tangent. All the prophets before Jesus had been married. If marraige was such a bad thing then they would not marry.

You are introducing something un-natural in the human system. It is all due to you that Popes had to order the priests not to get married. How bad?**

👍 wow! did I convert a catholic? 😉 correct! so we can admit that jesus was not god.
Not hardly:) Jesus is fully human and fully God. The divinity of Jesus Christ and his humanity has been discussed and defended way back in 325 back at the council of Ephesus. You bring up the same old arguments from heretics that have already been settled.
You are not bringing up something new here. Tell me do you know anyone else whoever raised the dead by his words, heal the sick, bring sight to blind, healed leapors, and paralytics, calmed the storms at the whisper of his voice? Jesus did all these things before eyewitnesses. Jesus walked on water, raised from the dead and walked, ate breakfast and ascended before eyewitnesses. Jesus also forgave sins. Did the founder of your religion ever do such divine things before eyewitnesses?

As far as your Egyptian theory it does not hold water. For one in the Communion of Saints God is God of the living not the dead for to these who have died in the flesh live ever more in the beatific vision of God. Because Catholics believe God is the God of the living, these Catholic brothers and sisters are alive in God not dead. So because they lived a Life of Christianity many Martyred for this Catholic faith without fear, we ask them for their prayers, we do not worship our brothers and sisters as gods, that is ridiculous.

So tell me is your God a God of the living or of the dead?

Can we just be candid for a minute? Jesus is dead, it is after all a natural thing for man to die and I do not see that Jesus was exception to this. So, isn’t it YOU who is worshiping the god of the dead?

The virgin men in heaven were married once? How can this be? Why does the bible speak of Virgin men? who are these virgin men?

Why would you subject God to the natures of man? God has done a much more glorious blessing with marriage. God covenanted himself to those who accept his Son Jesus who is above every name.

The thing your trying to do is limit God to your own preconceptions of who God is, and who Jesus is. I dont see where you are arguing from except to attach Jesus to his humanity. To which Catholics have no problem with accepting Jesus humanity. The bible is clear Jesus did not marry anyone in the flesh as you define marriage. This does not mean that the Catholic church opposses marriage, you are incorrect for assuming this.

Do you know where in the scriptures where God describes virgin men? Besides Jesus teaches for the kingdom of God some are made Eunichs and some are made Virgins, and as Paul teaches if you have the fire for marriage it is ok to marry, but it is much better to remain a virgin for the kingdom of God.

So your pretense of marriage is good in the kingdom, but it is better to remain celebate. Now that is not the Pope or the Catholic church speaking these are in sacred scripture, so if you still have a problem with man has to be married, then you can fight against God’s teachings not the Popes or the Catholic church, for we follow and obey God not man,

So do you obey God? when he say’s some are called to marriage and others are not?

**Gabriel of 12, Please do not put your foot in two boats at once. We know you profess that you worship only One God. But who is that One God? That is Jesus, is he not? You have a complicated belief. You talk about a different type of God.

Since you take out all support from the bibleOt, can you please tell me if there is any news of a Triune God there in the OT? There have been many prophets in the Israeli line from Jacob to John the baptist. The Jews may not be believing in John as a prophet. Please tell me did any one teach the Trinity?

Did John the baptist teach any Trinity? Think over.

It would be better if you people started reading the bibleOT regularly. Then you will understand the God and the religion. There is a good law there and plenty of advice in the bibleOT even now.

Jesus being a Rabbi and a great teacher had good knowledge of the OT. Why don’t you also acquire that knowledge please?

Amen Jesus did die, at least we got up to bat. So tell me we know where the apostles were buried, we know where the Jews are buried, we know were the pagan rulers are buried who lived during Jesus lifetime. Can you tell me where Jesus is layed?

Interesting, the first century Jews and Pagan Roman rulers sought desperately to disprove Jesus resurrection by finding his body, but Jesus kept appearing to eyewitnesses. So now your going to tell me all the first century christians, the first century Jews, and first century pagan Romans were all lying that Jesus did not resurrect from the dead.

So tell me do you believe in the bible both the old and new testaments?

i do not even believe jesus existed, so your point is null and void with me.

I believe in telling the truth and the truth is the new testament contradicts the Old testament.
