The OT is the proof that Jesus would be exactly Who He said He would be by fulfilling the 300+ prophecies that He gave His prophets over the course of 4000 years.
And yes** Catholics hear all the scriptures at Mass.**
The first one of the OT prophecy.
The second is the fulfilment thru Resurrection and what it means to us.
And the Gospel is how Jesus reiterates the OT thru His teachings.
If we go to Mass daily - we would see how they match. The prophecy, the fulfilling and the outcome.
And many Catholics may take classes or study the OT but not on their own so they can ‘wrest’ the scriptures and Epistles which Peter warned about.
AND NO - God doesn’t provide us with several avenues of thinking. He isnt apathtetic to His own truths - so it’s inane to suggest we should be relative when it comes to finding the truth.
2 Timothy 2
13 If we believe not, he continueth faithful, he can not deny himself.
