If the Catholic kids find it offensive that someone is chanting a song of another religion, they need to study up on American tolerance of various religions.

How did they mock him? His chanting was a pagan chant. It shouldn’t be particularly respected when he comes up and does it in someone’s face.

America started off intolerant of various religions. So I don’t think studying history would reveal what you think it does.
 
I didn’t hear anyone chanting build a wall. I saw three different groups of people, all seemingly equally obnoxious, barking at each other. Two groups were small, and consisted of adults. The group of high school kids is larger, but likely was made of 17 and 18 year olds.

Where in the world were the adults who should have been with these kids?? They bear some responsibility.

The kids were being worked up and baited by the “adults” from the group of bearded men and Native Americans. I don’t see how these kids can be blamed for anything more than being a little obnoxious in reaction to being baited. And they are high school kids. Do we expect them to have the patience, wisdom and experience of a full grown adult?
 
I agree with what you wrote except I think the kids acted perfectly fine. They didn’t do anything wrong and showed more patience than most adults. I am glad to see some kids with spirit and proper pride.
 
I don’t think they did anything wrong either, not as a group anyway.
 
I’ve hesitated to come to any conclusions until all the facts came out. There’s a lot of videos and the ones most needed for context are not easy to find.

Although some of the boys responded poorly and did some mocking in my book (e.g. tomahawk chop kid), this does look to me like they got played by a couple of activist groups who are made up of adults and undoubtedly far more well-versed in this than these out-of-town kids.

And don’t forget a greedy news media willing to tear a country apart to get clicks and ad revenue.

Not all, but many journalists should really pipe down about distrust in the media. Many of them and their colleagues have brought that upon themselves.

Maybe the boys didnt respond perfectly. But I doubt they were expecting a group of drummers and chanters and cameramen to enter their group and seemingly target one boy. Also, some claim the smirking boy blocked the path of the group. BUT If the group wanted to advance, they should have gone around the boy. Plain and simple. And the media narrative is still exaggerated. They make it seem like the boys surrounded the group unprovoked. Not true. It was the group who entered the crowd of boys and then the boys seemingly joined in on the “fun.” (Remember, they were doing school chants and getting ‘hyped up.’) Yes, a few were somewhat insensitive with their hand motions, but that hardly justifies the reactions of certain individuals. They want the boys’ names to be made public, they want the boys physically assaulted, their futures utterly ruined, etc. Absolutely ridiculous.
 
Some adult chaperone should have immediately intervened and politely but firmly sent the gentleman on his way. He had no business interacting with the high school students, period. He was obviously encouraging them and making no effort to get away, as he would be doing if they were really “harrassing” him.

I’m disappointed that the school caved in so quickly on this. But that’s how it is these days, when the leftist bullies get you in their sights.

Yeah, if you walk into a group of people then they aren’t blocking your way, especially in a wide open space like that one.

I don’t think that is insensitive. If anything the Indian walking up to people performing his religious songs was the insensitive one. I don’t go up to people and start singing religious songs or any in their face.
 
Far from smirking, the one boy looked very embarrassed to me. Like he wanted to get away, but didn’t want to offend.
 
Could be. The whole story is mostly a big I don’t care for me. The big takeaway for me was that I was glad to see some young boys with spirit. I hope the world and the schools don’t break it.
 
Anybody that’s spent any time around high school boys knows these kids weren’t acting maliciously. Silly and loud, yes. Mean? No. The leftist press are the bullies here. As usual. They virulently hate the president and the Roman Catholic Church.
 
Its unfortunate that even a some Catholics have thrown these boys under the bus as well.
 
I was thinking that very same thing. Well, they’re boys, so they must be toxic males.
 
Rash judgment… apparently perfectly acceptable if you have the right target.
 
I am glad to see people on twitter who initially condemned the boys retract their stories and apologize for rash judgement. Hopefully more apologize for their insane reactions
