We are nearly 300 posts into this thread, and I’m still not seeing the slippery slope you’re describing. Exactly who is coming for K of C?

The Columbus statue was removed from public property with public pressure and endorsement from public officials. Whether or not you think they’re on the right side of history, (and to be clear, I do), they followed the rules.

By contrast, the Knights are a private organization. I’m not sure how your hierarchy works, but any related decisions will be handled privately, and you always have the choice to walk out if you’re displeased. If nothing has changed during the last three years, it looks like K of C is nowhere near removing Columbus from its name or any symbols.
 
Love it. Do you have a good resource for learning East End street slang? The only two I know are: “We’re in Barney Rubble! (trouble)” and “Robert’s your aunt’s husband…”

Evil can’t help but consume itself. In this case, those who support abortions, pulling down statues, attacking Columbus all of that stuff, undermines themselves.

As far as Columbus statues goes, once you get rid of Robert E Lee, who is next? Gotta keep these revolution fires burning, even if they have to sacrifice some Union statues like General Grant in the process. This all looks like lawlessness to me.

How many statue wranglers ever took time to write their congressmen I wonder? What ever happened to “sit ins?” MLK marched, he didn’t set things on fire or knock over statues, and he and his fellow demonstrators ushered the greatest civil movement ever! They were peaceful even in the face of violence.

One of the cofounders of BLM Shaun King said exactly that…they must tear down all murals and representation of white Jesus and his European mother because they are tools of oppression and white supremacy.

THEY ARE COMING FOR OUR CHURCHES NEXT.

I implore anyone who supports BLM in any way to stop now. You are feeding the beast and he will not stop until all good is destroyed.

That’s something I could never understand. Why is Christianity and especially Catholicism considered a “white” religion? Jesus was a Middle Easterner. Today there are many non-white Christians. The entire South America is Christian, and many parts of Africa as well.

To be fair, anakyr seems to be suggesting that looting churches would be fine as punishment for having a racially inaccurate Jesus. That’s pretty bonkers too.
