In the defense of the teachers, 60% did show up for work. A majority, though not a large majority did show integrity and dedication. If my experience with employees is any indication, the ones who lack integrity and discipline are usually the same one’s that have to rely on extreme protective measures and procedures to keep their jobs, as they might not be able to keep it based on their own merit.

Schwarzenegger merely illustrated the concept that feeling something strongly doesn’t necessarily equip one to serve in an executive branch. Acting (or community organizing for that matter) makes one a great “emoter” but that only gets one so far. Politicians deal with intransigent unions in one of three ways, drawing multiple lines in the sand only to get largely ignored (Schwarzenegger), the Stockholm Syndrome (Obama) or steadfast, immovable insistence for the greater good (Christie). I vote for the last approach.

Fake doctor’s notes are being handed out to prostestors. Apparantely, these people find honesty challenging. If you believe in your cause, why not stand up for it rather than hide like a shivering coward?

How do you know that these people were not legitimately ill? Were you there? Are you a physician? Perhaps some had emotional distress over potentially losing their jobs or homes and were unable to function in the classroom or whatever job they have?

I’d tend to give them the benefit of the doubt since I’m not a doctor nor was I there. Its always easy to rush to judgement when your on the sidelines.

Then they can go to their physician, not get a doctor’s note while at a protest without a medical exam. Only a union zealot could defend this action.:rolleyes:

Well, they are sick I’m not sure it’s something a medical professional would diagnose. Maybe a mental health professional. Must be contagious, hope they stay away from here.
 
Maybe folks are sick of seeing what’s going on with respect to the middle and lower income people in this country. Willing to sacrifice according to their means. But expecting even the wealthiest who can most afford to sacrifice to have to do the same. Rather than for instance balancing budgets on the backs of those less able to afford it.

So now your trying to dictate to people who to see for a doctors note? Sounds a bit like a typical conservative big brother deciding what’s best for the population. I would assume then that you agree with Obama’s Health Care plan? 🙂

As I mentioned earlier, I’d tend to give them the benefit of the doubt irrespective of what one person says. Unless your the individual person, you have no idea of whether or not they are truly ill physically or emotionally unable to work.

I could care less who has the wealth, as long as the opportunity is there for me to take it from them by earning it myself.

Once the government takes their fair share there is less for me.
