No, but her interpretation of the event is full of vitriol and hate. To me, that is a “red-flag!”, because in it I hear the voice of the “culture of violence” speaking.

However, I did watch the whole 12+ minute video and never once did I see any indication that Sen. Grothman was at any time in any danger. However, about halfway through, it occurred to me that the poor man was locked out of the Capital building. So I did some checking, and it seems that this indeed was the case.

The way I see it, the conditions that put Sen. Grotham at risk were created by Gov. Walker, who is also created this whole mess by refusing to accept the Unions’ offer to meet his fiscal demands. Walker should just do his job - balance the budget like he was elected to do, and stop holding the state of Wisconsin hostage to an ideological agenda that had he had campaigned on would have gotten the Democrat elected.

The fact that she decries threatened violence by union members against a representative and then in the update following the article drops the comment “Hope he has security.”

That in my book is her engaging in the exact same type of behavior she condemns in her blog post. She’s all for civility and fair play when it benefits her, but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot she has no problem lobbing her own ill-considered remarks.

I’m not sure why you are so infatuated with the video? I’ve been commenting on her blog post, not a link in a link. I once haven’t applauded or necessarily condemned what is or isn’t in the video. I have rightly called Malkin out for her double-standard.

I notice you haven’t commented on Malkin’s update.

All Money spent by individuals that is above and beyond basic food, basic clothing, basic shelter, and basic healthcare is termed disposable income, or “money for entertainment.” Since we don’t have hordes of shoeless, starving, skin-on-bones workers living in American streets, then what lies at the heart of this issue is the just redistribution of “money for entertainment.” Doesn’t everyone prefer to keep more of their own hard-earned money?

The real question is: Should “money for entertainment” be forcibly taken from the 88% of the workforce that is not unionized and given to the 12% that is unionized?

I think we both know what he means. The average worker in the US, union or not has more than plenty and often lives beyond their means. The average poor person in the US is much better off than anywhere else. Just ask the homeless person using a blackberry to photograph Michele Obama or the poor lady in Louisiana with the 60 inch flat screen TV. Thank you Acorn!

Agreed. Too often the left seems to believe that jobs are the result of Immaculate Conception. They love the worker and hate the employer all the while not seemikmg to understand that the former is dependent on the latter for their livelihood. They would like replace this injustice with everyone working for the government who will benevolently make sure everybody is treated equally and fairly. And of course the only way to ensure that is to put them in charge.

Jobs don’t just POOF out of nowhere. For every job, there has to be a job creator. In our economic system, jobs are traditionally created by business owners who wish to expand their product or service availability. In demonizing the “rich”, what the liberals in this country are doing is demonizing the very people who are capable of providing employment to the people that they claim to champion. What apparently they want is for everyone to work for the government.

I didn’t read that into it at all. It appears that the protesters are blocking access to all legislators, and has especially demonstrated dislike of Republicans. If Cullen returns, he may be viewed as a traitor. And while people may dislike the enemy, they dislike traitors even more. It seems to me, Malkin was suggesting that Cullen will need security more than others because of his return from the very sample people threatening others.

I get your point, but isn’t this a Catholic forum?

Our Blessed Mother did not “poof” into existence. She had a mother and a father just like the rest of us. If you are thinking of the virgin birth, our Lord Jesus did not “poof” into existence either. He exists eternally and his physical body came into the world through the “labor” of his 100% biological mother.

I know I’m new and should stay on topic, but I thought this was more important. Here’s something you might want to check out when you get a chance. 🙂
