A better book is Victims by Richard G. Turley.I have read that book, way back in 1990. Very good book. Another good book on the Mark Hoffman episode is A Gathering of Saints.
This is a popular anti-Mormon urban legend. It is not supported by any facts. What I found interesting in my research afdter reading the books is that there were LDS police investigators who left the Church over this. Apparently, they caught Hinkley in lies and could not understand how Hinkley could be so dishonest and how easily Hoffman fooled people who spoke to God.
President Hinckley was a better, more honest man than all of his critics put together.
Present company not excepted.
Of course you will. You don’t need to have any evidence for your baseless accusations.I will always suspect that the Church convinced him to plead guilty so that Hinkley and other Church leaders would not have to testify.
Well, he did.Mormons will say that Hoffman pled guilty to avoid the death penalty,
Thus demonstrating that Mormons tell the truth, while our opponents can manufacture accusations out of nothing at all.
He didn’t try very hard; both times he was “saved.”but that seems odd since Hoffman tried to kill himself in prison.
But hey – keep on spinning your absurd conspiracy theories. If you could manage to make them more original, they could be quite entertaining.
